Sir Patrick Stewart look-alike

I'd be interested in people's opinion! You see, this is my Dad, and people always stop him in the street asking if he is Patrick Stewart. Being my Dad, I can't really be objective. I dragged him outdoors at the weekend to do a bit of a photoshoot and have just made him a website www.makeitso.co . Friends on Facebook seem impressed, and I'd like to know what anyone here thinks.

I don't think anyone as familiar with TNG as us would ever mistake him, but do you think the 'general public' might go for it? I have seen a couple of the other Patrick Stewart look-a-likes at conventions and around the net, but am too close to the subject to be able to make a proper comparison. Any comments greatly appreciated! His name is Patrick Joseph.

He's not a complete duplicate, but he sure looks like Stewart. He also looks a lot like Lost's Terry O'Quinn, by the way.

Oh - you mean John Locke? I hadn't thought of that but he does a bit doesn't he. Thanks for that.

I appreciate you commenting! :)

One thing I didn't notice until after I took the photos, Patrick Stewart tends to smile with his mouth firmly closed. Sort of pursed lips... so I might take some more this weekend. Yeah Jamee, I think the best resemblance is when he is face on as his profile is less pronounced I think.

That is quite uncanny. It's as if Picard and Locke got merged in a transpoter accident alá Tuvix.

If his voice is similar he could probably make a bit of money.

The only non-Patrick Stewart I've seen look closer to Patrick Stewart is Lawrence Montaigne. After playing Stonn, he went on to an unremarkable career as a supporting player in a bunch of B-movies, before retiring and becoming a drama teacher. Then he went bald. I met him a decade ago when he was a guest at Star Fest in Denver, and the resemblance is very striking.

But I'd put your dad in second on the list of looking the most like Patrick Stewart. A very close second.

Very close. You might want to see if there's a Ron Smith Celebrity Lokkalike office near you. Extra cash.

Actually, in the third shot, you can see that your dad has the same nose as Patrick.

I was thinking Patrick had smaller ears, but after looking at some images, not really.

Oh right, the old Vulcan/Romulan guy FormerLurker. Just looked up Ron Smith - so its a lookalike agency... US based, maybe they would fly us over - could use a vacation!

He has the same accent pretty much, and we've had a go at voicing Sir Patrick's most famous phrases... "Make it so" "Engage" "I can see your belly" (from the row with James Corden http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKV48Y1z74o lol)!

I've had a few comments about the website noting that his phaser is from the wrong era, I just figured that the general public might not recognise what he was holding if he carried my playmates TNG phaser. It kinda looked like a different sort of toy!

Thanks for all your comments, I've passed them on. WillsBabe, for some reason he liked yours the best!

Yes, he does look like him. Not an exact duplicate, but I'm sure someone who didn't know Trek very well would think it was him! Handsome!

Now that would be amazing Xavier! I'd love to be able to talk him into that. Even just a cameo to a group that was already makng them... shame we are in the UK since I think most of the ones I have seen, like the Phase II projects, seem to be US based.

I did have an idea the other day, less serious and more a short little comedic piece. Maybe a short film about a day in the life of Captain Picard, an eccentric who talks to ATM machines asking for 'Earl grey tea, hot' etc. ...that sort of thing. Though Irony is very British and the humour might not translate well over the pond.

But ...handsome? Again? Its like people are hitting on my Dad! Red Alert!! lol
Thanks for the comments :)

I've ordered a Star Trek uniform which is on its way over from the states. Will be good to get some new photos done. Plus he's been watching PS clips to try and capture his mannerisms. I will loan him First Contact I think. He's getting quite into the whole thing. Although he did think I was making it up when I asked him to sit in a wheelchair while I took photos!! I tried explaining about Professor Xavier from X-Men but I wasn't making much progress.

Star Trek fan made films are okay for copyright.

Paramount have given free licence as long as no profit is involved. And although Patrick Stewart owns his own likeness, there is no precedent for celebrity look alikes violating copyright.

But yeah, we need some uniform pics.

Would be nice if you could get an opportunity to get a side by side photo taken if you ever meet Patrick Stewart at a convention.
