Seska - Full Cardassian?

Six of Twelve

Captain
Captain
When Seska's true Cardassian appearance was restored, her ridges and "spoon" were so faint as to suggest she was of mixed ancestry, perhaps as little as one-quarter Cardassian. Even the half-Cardassian Ziyal had more pronounced ridges. I don't recall seeing any neck ridges on her, either, though I might be wrong about that, as it's been so long since I've watched the episodes with her showing her true appearance.

Was it ever established as to whether she was a full Cardassian or of mixed ancestry -- or any explanations given for her atypical, for Cardassians, appearance?

I recall something being said to the effect that her true appearance was being restored gradually. I'm pretty sure Seska was supposed to have been full Cardassian.

She was supposed to be full Cardie, they just never bothered to update the make-up the next time she showed up.

Seska said she was in the process of restoring her true Cardassian appearance in "Maneuvers" but perhaps she stopped in case whatever procedure she was using endangered her baby.

For one thing, she was on a Kazon ship. She used to complain about the facilities aboard Cullah's ship. That's why she wanted Voyager....

I seem to recall Seska telling the EMH, when he discovered her deception, that she'd actually received significant Cardassian transfusions due to some illness or other she'd had, back in the day?

You mean the story where she was a Bajoran who got transfusions from an elderly Cardassian woman?

I've wondered if it was because she couldn't fully restore her Cardassian appearance because of the low level of Kazon medical technology.

^Actually, I find it kinda hard to believe she was able to do as much as she did aboard the Kazon ship....

She must have acquired some kind of dermal regeneration technology from one of the Delta Quadrant races...

It's probably not the Kazon who operated on her, she's keen enough to make a deal with a race with better medical tech.

What if she had something before she got trapped into the delta quadrant? She's very resourceful, and I wouldn't put it past her to beam not just herself over to the Kazon ship. She's sure shown herself to be smarter than Cullah, but then that might not be that hard.
