I liked the movies & I am interested in this series. That quote makes me laugh though. :rommie:
 
It doesn't look terrible, but I can't say I'm going to watch it. I like the Scream films (more or less), but without the original characters I'm just not that interested.
 
I wonder about timing as well. I question if deconstructing slasher movies has the same resonance with the audiences of 2015 as the post-80s original had in 1996.
 
Maybe they can also deconstruct the new wave of horror TV shows: American Horror Story, The Walking Dead, True Blood, Teen Wolf, etc.
