This week's contest is about movies or tv episodes that scared the proverbial crap out of you. Monsters, demons, ghosts, scary aliens, mad scientists, you name it. If it was a sci-fi or fantasy film/tv show and it scared you silly, make an avatar of it and enter it here. Non-genre films like "Jaws" or "Psycho" do not count but films like "Dracula," "The Exorcist" and "Alien" do. Standard rules apply: 200 x 200 pixels max, 1 MB max, and keep it Google/work safe. The voting thread will be up on the 24th (or thereabouts). You may enter up to three avatars.

Since I won the last contest, I will only enter two:

Salem's Lot (1979)
Here's the story. Actually it was the scene in the book that scared me. I was a voracious reader. Often staying up late to finish a book. So I'm reading "Salem's Lot" and I get to that point in the book. As I'm reading about the vampire scratching on the window, a gust of wind causes a branch to brush my bedroom window. I just about jumped out of my bed. I was done reading for the night.

My dad watched a lot of classic sci-fi when I was a kid and didn't care too much if I was peering out from behind the Laz-e-boy, quietly terrified.

The Outer Limits: Wolf 359
What I called "the Ghost from Dundee Planet."

Sure, he looks corny now, but what little kid watching Trek for the first time didn't pee his or her pants a little bit when this scaly MF'er first turned around and hissed at Kirk?

The Gmork from The Never-Ending Story.
When I first saw the movie as a kid The Gmork and Morla scared the shit out of me. And on top of those two there was a certain other scene that traumatized every child of the '80s. I'm pretty sure there was probably more than a decade between the first and second times I watched it. Now it's one of my absolute favorite movies of all time.

Snow White & The Seven Dwarves
There is some seriously scary stuff in a lot of the early Disney movies.
