Stanley Kamel, the actor known for playing Dr. Charles Kroger on USA's hit series "Monk," was found dead at his Hollywood home Tuesday, "Access Hollywood" reports. He was 65.
"Actor Stanley Kamel was found dead in his Hollywood Hills home on Tuesday, April 8, by his long time agents and friends, Donna Massetti and Marilyn Szatmary. Cause of death at this time is unknown. …He is survived by his brothers Dr. Stephen Kamel and Robert Kamel, 5 nieces and nephews, and 6 grand nieces and nephews," reps for the actor said in a statement.
Kamel was a regular on "Monk," playing a therapist who counseled the obsessive-compulsive detective title character played by Golden Globe and Emmy winner Tony Shalhoub.
Kamel has appeared in numerous TV roles over the past three decades, including "The West Wing," "Six Feet Under," "Melrose Place," "The Golden Girls," "Days of Our Lives" and "Murder One."
