We don't have a thread for reviews yet, so I decided to create one and point out a few (IMO) noteworthy links.
Two reviews I found interesting:
-Keith RA Decandido's (known from his ST books and contributions to Tor's website): https://reactormag.com/television-review-star-trek-prodigy-season-two/
=> best season of all the new Star Trek series, for him. I agree.
-Trekzone.de review, with a take that may be quite original compared to reviews from the Anglosaxon sphere (Star Trek is very popular in Germany).
A redditor has kindly provided an English translation at this link: The link to the original trekzone.de page is included on the linked page, but the review is in German, or course.
Interesting take: reviewer Christopher Kurtz lauds Prodigy for "rejecting the sacred timeline dogma" and for allowing the characters to deviate from a supposed predestined path, contrasting it with Strange New Worlds take on Pike's situation. I agree.
Noteworthy is also that both the German review and the comments, by regular Trekbbs contributor Christopher in the KRAD review, criticise the very high stakes for this season, with nothing less than the exitence of the universe being at stake. I agree once more.
On the general Startrek reddit, contributor USSburritotruck had been providing "canon connection" threads for each episode, which differ from other such lists because he low-key adds jokes in them, such as in the example at this link :
Canon Connections: Prodigy 1x15 - Masquerade
Dal begins to exhibit traits of several of the species he’s genetically derived from:

Dal begins to exhibit traits of several of the species he’s genetically derived from:
- He reads Okona’s mind. Species 8472, Vulcans, Remans are all telepathic. Perhaps the proto-Organians as well.
- He appears to more intelligent, or at least have a larger active vocabulary. Vulcans tend to be wordy. Vulcans are considered to be of above average intelligence. Q also claims to be unfathomably intelligent.
- Increased strength could be courtsey of Vulcans, Klingons, Hirogen, or Gorn.
- [...]
- Spitting eggs at a Romulan and causing his chest to explode with miniature Dals that then fight one another for dominance is probably a Gorn trait.
