Rambo: First Blood

Dude111

Lieutenant
Red Shirt
ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES EVER!!!! -- They sure picked the wrong guy!!!!!! (Im glad I found a good copy (In SP mode))

THEY CAUSED ALL OF IT!!!!

Like John said "THEY DREW FIRST BLOOD" -- They sure did..... They saw John as a Military person (The 'US Army' on his jacket set the sheriffs attitude) and many ppl do not like them for the way they treat ppl badly....... IT WAS NOT JOHNS FAULT THAT MR. GALT WAS KILLED WHEN HE FELL OUT OF THE HELICOPTER....... It was Karma that got him... HE WAS GONNA KILL JOHN!!!

That movie came out BEFORE THIS P.C. CRAP STARTED luckily and was able to be ALL IT COULD!! (Its excellent)

Back when a Rambo movie was good. Back when a Rambo movie had a good score (none of this generic, occassional drum-hell Tyler stuff).

Hell, just that one scene of Rambo coming out of nowhere and grabbing the sheriff and holding a knife to his throat and telling him he'll give him a war he won't believe, just blows almost every single film made in the last twenty years out of the water. That's a stand up, clap your hands, cheer moment.

People forget that he's not quite the one-man army in this one. Only one person dies in the film, and that is by accident.

There is an elegance to the story. The themes of PSTD and finding a job in a country that hates him are given just the right amount of weight.

It may be the first film that (after a few short introductory scenes) is pretty much all action.

It is one of my favorite films. Ever

There is no film called Rambo: First Blood. There's First Blood and then there's Rambo: First Blood Part II. Confusingly, there's then Rambo III followed by Rambo (I was sure Stallone would call the latter John Rambo, to echo his successful Rocky Balboa).

John Woo's HARD-BOILED could be its Asian equivalent, given its entire last hour in Bloodshed Hospital.

I saw DOG SOLDIERS IN 2002 and BATTLE ROYALE the following year. They're unconnected, but they have incredible levels of intensity. If you watch them in the above order, they make the wildest double-feature imaginable.
First Blood came out about nine years earlier than Hard Boiled.

He was just suggesting that "Hard Boiled" could be the Asian equivalent, not that it came out before 'First Blood."

Did you see Woo's 'Bullet in the Head'? Nice addition... Scrap that, essential addition to your viewing.
