quick question for extreme winter sports types

One of those writer things...

In real life, outside of videogames, just how suicidal would snowboarding down a bobsled run be? More importantly, has anybody out there tried it, and if so, what did they report about the experience afterwards...

I don't know about deadly, but crazy - yes. The problem primarily is that the only way to brake with a snowboard is to "wag", make curves (sorry, I don't know the technical term in English) and if you just go straight, it's very difficult to balance too, because the big area that touches the ground makes it quite volatile, difficult to control and difficult to steer. Standard technique in snowboarding is basically to make curves by moving from one edge of the board to the other all the time, but never to stay long on the broad surface.

I think it could be done on skis, but with a snowboard - I don't know...

It *can* be done on skis - I've seen it done. It's exactly that steering-by-curving that makes me wonder how lethal it would be.

I once went down a bobsled run on a bobsled and that was enough for me I'd do it again, but would never in a million years dream of doing it on a snowboard.
