Questions about Stephen King's book Pet Sematary

HarryCanyon1982

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
Are the resurrected basically deadites? they aren't zombies but rather dead bodies possessed by demons/evil spirits. Afterall the resurrected come back as demons who return to torment the living.

And did the Wendigo that soured the ground possessed the dead bodies of Gage, Timmy Batterman, Rachel, Gus (in the film version's sequel) etc. while other spirits possessed the animals and some other humans even the punk from the film version's sequel?

Do they really need to fall into the same categories used by other fiction? They're resurrected dead, and they often come back wrong. :)

But were the bodies possessed by the Wendigo and other demon/spirits? and do Wendigos also possess dead corpses besides turning humans into cannibals?

I dunno. But they came back with memories intact, for what it's worth.

I remember reading online (so take it was a grain of salt) that the creatures were supposed to have been taken over by some sort of demonic creature that the Indian Tribe worshiped. I cannot remember where I read it, but I know it was online.
