Description (from me, not an official source):
When Puss in Boots discovers that he is on his last life, and his attempt at retirement doesn't work out, he reuinites with Kitty Soft Paws, and a new canine companion, to find the wishing star so he can use it's last wish to restore his lives. Along the way they are pursued by Goldilocks and the Three Bears crime family, and Big Jack Horner, who are also after the wish, and a mysterious wolf.

My thoughts:
We just saw this this morning, and I thought it was a lot of fun. I thought most of the humor worked pretty well, it had fun action, and the cast was great. The story was pretty good too, and did some nice stuff with the characters, especially Puss. I really like the animation style, which was a bit more stylized than the previous movies in the franchise.

I saw it two Saturdays ago! So much fun, and so deep.

I'm so glad they didn't subvert expectations *coughs up hairball* and make little Perrito the bad guy/Death in disguise. He's so sweet and kind.

The song, the many ridiculous deaths, the sweet love story...I loved it all. I found myself teary at Goldy's finding she already had the family she longed for.

By the way, it's worth noting that since Puss discovered he does fear something after all, you can swap out "fearless" for "felis" (as in "felis catus") or "feline" seamlessly. But you'd still have to work on the rest of the song, since he has now been cut by Death's scythe, which counts as a blade.

Yeah. By the end, he was practically drowning himself in leche. :guffaw:Though some pan seco (dry bread - I Googled the translation) would've helped. Or a pastilla (lozenge).

Walking a little close to the edge, eh, Gato?

Something I wonder...how long did he stay at Mama Luna's? Long enough to grow a long beard, I know, but is the shelter in some time vortex where he can stay for weeks and it's only been days in the outside world?

@JD, if you like, I have some Puss in Boots fanfics @ fanfiction.net https://www.fanfiction.net/u/380402/ Puss is so much fun to write for. He's larger than life.

Also, how exactly does Puss come back from his messier deaths? Does he re-spawn like a video game character? How long does it take for him to come back?

What's the difference between a resurrection and a resuscitation? People don't have "nine lives", yet they can clinically die and be revived. So has Puss ever "died" on the table, as it were, and then been defibrillated or the fairy tale equivalent, and those don't count because he didn't need his fairy tale magic to save him?

Or, you know, people just aren't that interested in this movie

Possibly compounded by getting a very limited release.

Thought maybe it had got stinker initial reviews and hence delays to the release then disappearing very quickly but having a look at wiki and it scored quite well with the critics.

The movie continues to do quite well both in the theater and on Digital. I was surprised that it was released on Digital less than a month after release.

I don't if anyone else has Peacock, but this is up on there now. Not sure if it's available to everyone or just premium subscribers, the thing little feather that indicates if something is premium disappeared once I moved up to premium.

Saw it today on streaming. Spectacular animation, great villain, average story and characters that I generally didn't care about, and a few (the dog) that I couldn't stand. I voted C+ , its no Shrek 1 or 2, but its probably on par with Shrek 4 (which makes it much better then Shrek 3). If I was voting on animation alone it would be an A+, its nice to see that Dreamworks is capable of making a great looking movie, even if I think the animation in this case deserves a better script to go with it.

and a few (the dog) that I couldn't stand.

Most of the commenters on Youtube that I've seen noted that Perrito is the kind of character they ordinarily don't like (happy-go-lucky annoying friend), but they found themselves liking him anyway. I guess it's because he knows when to shut up, eventually, and proves himself a loyal friend. Others resonated with his intuitive calmness during Puss' panic attack; it reminded them of their own (therapy) dogs being there for them.

Some even went as far as calling him a cinnamon roll and saying they'd die for him, etc...
