Property of Ambassador Spock [SPOILERS!!!]

WarpFactorZ

Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral
The thought occurred to me: how did Amb. Spock happen to be in possession of a photo from the Prime timeline? He would have needed to have it on the Jellyfish, and avoid Nero confiscating it before he was exiled on Delta Vega. Let's brainstorm!

The only thing I can rationalize is that Spock was carrying some type of PDA that had all of his files on red matter and the Jellyfish user's manual, but also all his iTunes and photos (incl. the crew pic). He tucked this away somewhere () when captured by Nero, who basically didn't take the time to frisk him and just tossed him on the transporter pad -- although he was thoughtful enough to supply him with winter clothes! Spock's PDA was also how he knew the location of the Starfleet outpost (yelp.sf helped with that).

So, if this device was in the box nuSpock received, he's in for a treat during his downtime (presumably all TOS episodes and movies -- er... log entries -- are on there as well, not to mention info about the next 120 years in the prime universe).

Other thoughts? Brainstorm!

I do like to think that spock went back and forth between the prime and kelvin universe thereby getting a few of his items.

PDA? Those were pretty much obsolete by 2005 :)

Nah, I am sure the Jellyfish had more than a gigabyte of storage. Things don't need to be physically stored anymore. Just scanned, and then replicated at will. Shoot, we are almost there with 3-d printers now! That photo could have just been a database photo of the crew, stored in the Jellyfish memory.

Slightly related: Did anyone notice Ambassador Spock's service record highlights on the PADD Spock is given by the two Vulcans? It mentions him serving as Executive Officer on the Enterprise NCC-1701-A. I don't think that phone call about Khan was the only time he broke his vow never to reveal information about the future!

Since the photo was from STV era, maybe Spock had written on the back where it was taken, and who everyone was (and their rank).

Spock was pretty young for a Vulcan when he died. 154 or so? Maybe five years on this other universe effected his health? Or maybe because he is a hybrid he didn't have as many years as his father did.

162 still seems young....for a Vulcan. Sarek was I think 203 and died from complications of a rare illness.

Pretty old for a human, though. I think it cuts the difference nicely. And Sarek was old for a Vulcan (the illness, IIRC, was one to which the elderly are prone).
