As a person who grew up with the X-Men comics and later on the TV show, i've been playing X-Men games since i was 8 in 1990.

Best:
Wolverine X-Men Origins for PS3 and Xbox360.
Arcade X-Men.
X-men Legens 1 & 2.
X-Men Next Dimension.
X-Men 1 & 2 for Genesis.
Marvel Superheroes for Arcade and PS1.
Marvel vs. Capcom 1 & 2.
Street Fighter vs. X-Men.
Mutant Academy 1 & 2 for PS1.
X-Men: Children of the Atom for Saturn and Arcade.
X-Men Mutant Apocalypse for SNES.

Fair:
X2: Wolverine's Revenge for PS2.
X-Men Mutant Wars for Gameboy.
X-Men 3: Mojo World for Gamegear.

Mediocre:
Wolverine for NES.
Wolverine: Adamantium Rage for SNES.

Worst:
X-Men for NES.
X-Men/Spider-Man Arcade's Revenge for SNES. (Stinkin' Laughing Joking Numbnuts LJN)

X-Men/Spider-Man Arcade's Revenge for SNES. (Stinkin' Laughing Joking Numbnuts LJN)

Aw, I liked that game. Sure, it was poorly designed, had terrible controls, and was incredibly hard (the bad kind of hard), but it was fun. One day I will beat it.

I haven't played every X-Men game but I've played quite a few.

Best:
All of the Marvel series Capcom fighting games which include
  • Marvel vs Capcom 2
  • Marvel vs Capcom 1
  • Marvel Superheroes vs Street Fighter
  • Marvel Superheroes
  • X-Men vs Street Fighter
  • X-Men: Children of the Atom
X-Men Legends 1 and 2

Next Best:
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 (and probably 2 but haven't played 2 yet)
X-Men arcade

Can't pick any that I've played that I didn't like actually. The Marvel universe really lends itself to video games. :techman:

My favorite (of the few I've played) is definitely X-Men Legends 1. Excellent controls and gameplay and leveling. And once your character gets really powerful at the end it is so damn sweet.

I loved X-men arcade. I played with my friends, and I always wound up getting to the machine last, and was stuck playing Dazzler.

I found out that she was a cool charater to play. In hand to hand combat, hs ewas really weak, and when she got hit, she fell down a lot, but her mutant attack was so easy to use, so easy to direct. And she had this one regular attack wher eshe did this graceful athletic flip where she'd plant her hands on the ground and spring forward, taking out whoever was in her way. I guess it was like any charcter, but, depsite the fact she was (I gather) the weakest character to play, she was pretty cool.

Does anyone remember the LJN made X-Men game? that was horrible and it's a bird's eye game with a broken AI/CPU to it.

X-Men Madness in Murderworld (PC) - I still have mixed feelings. The manual gave a good summary of X-Men history up to that point (1989, I think). The game was harder then heck.

I 2nd that. MvsC2 is the best game with x-men members in it. although not the most balanced fighting game out there. which reminds me i need to start playing Tatsunoko vs Capcom again.

You mean 4 god-level characters about 8 average/decent characters and about 44 suck-ass characters isn't balanced?! blasphemy!

Haha yea, Mag, Storm, Cable, Sentinel, Blackheart all day

I have a few teams, but when I do play. I like to use Ironman, Captain Commando and Cyclops, but usually get shut out by zoners and turtlers more so than rushdown/crossup champs like storm/mag

If anybody plays on MvC2 or SF4 my XBL my gamertag is SH0GUN Rua (that's a zero not an "o")

Usually when I'm online I'm playing some other game with a friend and not available for matches. But add me and maybe we'll catch each other online at the same time and get some Marvel matches in. My primary team is BH/Storm/CapCom, but also use Rogue/Storm/Psylocke, Juggernaut/Sentinel/Colossus, as well as various combinations of those characters and a few other teams too.

My live gamertag is: LightningSt0rm < like yours that is a zero not an 'oh'

Oh I remember that game for the NES, I thought that game was originally supposed to be a different game entirely, but reskinned and retooled to be an X-Men game. I tuni Angry Videogame Nerd did a video on it
