Doing a VOY rewatch and anyone else notice how the Paramount commercial breaks happen a couple seconds too late? They’ll fade to black, then the next scene will start for a few seconds, then the commercial break will suddenly play interrupting characters mid sentence. At least for the older shows, I think Lower Decks has been fine. Not too big a deal but kinda annoying.
(Also Tubi commercials are superior lol)
Definitely happens with DS9.
And even worse... Paramount Plus
added a commercial break just before the end of an episode. Around 10 seconds or less before the 'Executive Producers' appears on screen.
It annoyed me to the point that I upgraded to the non-commercial version of Paramount Plus. (Which
STILL has ads right before an episode starts.) My wife and I are doing a DS9 rewatch, and while it was annoying and we lived with it for a while, one episode when it happened was the last straw for me... "ROCKS AND SHOALS".
After the Vorta appears and Sisko gave the order to form a burial detail, it cut right in the middle of Sisko's expression of disgust at the Vorta. They interrupted The Sisko!
THE SISKO!!! I was hopping mad!
I definitely was not going to allow this interruption for when we get to "IN THE PALE MOONLIGHT", so I switched the plan immediately after we finished "ROCKS AND SHOALS".
(It got us Showtime, too. And while I haven't watched anything from it yet, my wife finished and enjoyed YELLOWJACKETS, so it was worth it for her to find something else to enjoy.)
