THere was a demo that came out on a music CD, IIRC. It was awful...

That was not the 'minigame' that came with the ST: First Contact music CD? In that case it was not related. However whether there was a separate music CD that had a Borg Assimilator demo, I have never heard of that.

Actually, I was thinking of The Best of Star Trek CD, and looking back, that game seems to be called "Star Trek: First Contact", which is presumably a different game.

Well just to be clear...

1. ST: First Contact minigame on music soundtracks

2. ST: First Contact FPS game by Microprose

3. ST: Borg Assimilator RTS by Activision

These were all separate, different things. Of these three, only the first, not a real game at all, was made. There is info on it at Trekcore and I think files from that minigame.

The other two were supposed to be full-fledged games.

The First Contact FPS was cancelled. I wish the storyline could have been rebooted for an Elite Force mod.

Then there is the Borg Assimilator game.

The game I am referring to is billed as a preview of an upcoming game (which was never made), not a stand-alone mini-game.

Ah, thx for the info.

I wish they came up with some cool Borg games, the concept lends itself quite well to gaming--maybe more than TV/film. Loved how EF tackled it, liked the reference in A Final Unity, and looked forward to FC the game.

The situation that hasn't been done in gaming other than Away Team, and that was more of a shoot-thru-and-leave, is to retake a ship from Borg assimilation. There was a mod of EF that allowed something like that. I wish the FC game or some game could have done that.
