No More Psychoville but there could be a Happy Ending

I know it was announced a while ago but series 2 of Psychoville is the last they'll be make. Though apparently BBC have signed a deal Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton for 2 new shows.

From Broadcast

Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton are to create a fresh comedy horror show for BBC2 as part of a deal to back the Psychoville duo’s next two TV projects.

The League of Gentlemen co-creators are working on Happy Endings (working title), a 6 x 30-minute series of self-contained stories linked by the fact that they are “funny and terrifying”.
The series will be made by BBC’s in-house comedy unit and forms part of a deal to produce Shearsmith and Pemberton’s next two series. It is not clear if this will be two runs of Happy Endings or two distinct projects.
The show signals the end of Psychoville, which ran for two series and pulled in audiences peaking at 1.78 million (9% share).
Head of BBC in-house comedy Mark Freeland said it was “a very mutual decision” to call time on Psychoville, but did not rule out some of its characters or themes returning in Happy Endings.

Always look forward to their work. Should be interesting to see what they come up with next.

And we have a date, Inside No. 9 starts Wednesday 5th of February.

An anthology of darkly comic tales from the minds of Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith (The League Of Gentlemen, Psychoville). For six weeks, you are invited into six very different No. 9s, where the ordinary and mundane rub shoulders with the extraordinary and macabre.
From a grand country house where an innocent game of Sardines leads to some chilling revelations, to a blood-soaked actor's dressing room in London’s West End, or the one-bedroom flat of an apparently happy primary school teacher - these unpredictable tales feature high comedy, unexpected twists, and claustrophobic horror by turns.
In Sardines, it is the day of Rebecca and Jeremy’s engagement party, and everyone (well, nearly everyone) has turned up to the old house to wish them well. Except that one of the bedrooms – the one with all the old baggage in it – has been left unlocked...

Just watched ep. 1 of Inside No. 9. Fucking brilliant. I really like the anthology approach, and if the rest are as good as this one...
