The Sharks are going to be bad, but they are a rebuilding team. It is always fun to start a new season though and I hope this is a fun one.

ESPN's coverage of Bedard is already too much. I hope he does well too, but he looks like he's 16 years old.

I hate that Chicago got Bedard.

Vancouver opens the season with an 8-1 win over Edmonton. Something tells me the Oilers still have goaltending issues.

I was shocked Vancouver did that. It was almost like Edmonton was playing without McDavid or Draisaitl, even though Drai scored. Edmonton forgot the regular season had started.

Sharks start their season tonight. I don’t know what to expect but I’m looking forward to seeing the young guys this year.

Chicago should have been docked ten or so first rounders for what happened with Kyle Beach & Rocky's response afterwards. They got a slap on the wrist.

I agree. It's not even about Bedard either. It's punishing the organization but not the current players who probably had nothing to do with the Beach incident. When they got the first pick, there was a thought in my mind that the lottery was rigged so Bedard can go to a big market team.

It's going to be a long year for San Jose. They are barely competitive but they might challenge their expansion year as a team with most losses.

Also heard Connor is out for a week or 2. That's not good.

Debrincat for Detroit has having a hell of a start to the season so far, with 8 goals and a hat trick today.

ESPN is doing the Frozen Frenzy tonight. All 32 teams playing and the gametimes are staggered. I'm excited for it, but I think this is something they should do in February, like on Presidents Day. They are going up against the NBA and NLCS Game 7 tonight. Still, I'm excited for the NHL to try something new.

Joe Thornton announced his retirement today. I thought it was obvious a year ago, but he did it in a very Joe Thornton way. Now the clock can start for his entry into the Hall of Fame. He was a great Shark.
