New and Interesting Interview of Marina Sirtis

JRS

Fleet Captain

That was a great interview. And I don't care if she is 55, she looks every bit as good now as she ever has.

EDIT: Typo

I don't see anything wrong with her...;)

That was kind of my point. ;) :p

But seriously, I think kind of her point too. She's 55, all natural (except for the boobs ), and proud of it. With that said, she still looks just....well, WOW!

She does look good now, back then was the most attractive female cast member. Gates McFadden wasn't bad looking either, but Sirtis is closer to my type.

Indeed.

Not sure I needed to learn about her dry womanly parts but, whatcha going to do.

She's still a beautiful woman and I'd reach for the KY with her anytime.

Brilliant interview, really enjoyed reading that.

Also, I can't believe that she looks so beautiful at 55.

I admire Sirtis even more after reading that interview, and I've always admired her. She seems to have a good attitude about her life. I wish we saw her acting more often, though.

Although she says she's reached the age where she's not as interested in sex, I found her discussion of sex very...arousing.:alienblush:

For some reason, I always thought she was younger than me, but she's actually 3 years older.

Newbie here to the forum, but longtime (20 years) fan of Marina. :)

For some reason, I always thought she was younger than me, but she's actually 3 years older.

For a while, it seemed that her true age would remain a mystery. While TNG was running, several sources incorrectly listed her year of birth as 1964. (That would have made her only 23 when TNG started.) Later on, it was updated to 1960, where it remained for many years, even on sources such as IMDB. Wikipedia was one of the first that I can recall to have gotten it correct at 1955, and then IMDB updated itself later.

She has a remarkably young look about her, though. It's hard to believe she was 47 in Nemesis; she still looked like she was in her 30s. And personally, it was at that time that I found her most attractive; even moreso than during TNG (which at the time of TNG, I wouldn't have thought possible :) ). Regardless of her age, she looks awesome. :techman:

Right, and I forgot to mention about her personality. In the interview she mentions how nutty she is, but Troi's personality was very reserved.

I remember the first time (uh, maybe the only time) I saw her at a convention in around 1990. I was pleasantly surprised at how bubbly she was, and of course her real London accent is much different to what she affected for Troi.

A youngish woman in the audience stood up and asked a question. Sirtis immediately recognized her from interactions that had on a Trek cruise. It was a nice moment, and I'm sure it made the fan feel proud.

That was also the first of 3 times I saw her at conventions. She was in San Diego in 1992 and 1993, and then again with Jonathan Frakes in 1995.

Speaking of which, if anyone is interested, I have audio recordings and text transcripts of those first two conventions up on my web server. You can find them here: http://www.dreamhaven.org/~data/st
There is also a picture from the 1993 convention, and one with Frakes from 1995. Sorry about the poor picture quality; I had a crappy camera back then. :) I haven't done the transcript of the 1995 convention yet; that's next on my to-do list.

I had read about the difference before seeing her for the first time, but still wasn't quite prepared. :) I hadn't seen any interviews with her before seeing her in January 1992, so it was still a bit of a shock. Loved the accent, though. :)

A similar thing happened during the January 1993 convention in San Diego. A female fan, who Marina had seen the year before in Los Angeles and who had been in a wheelchair at the time, was present and was walking with a crutch. Marina immediately recognized her and called her up to the stage to give her a big hug. She remarked how happy she was to see that this girl was walking now. I'm sure it was a touching and memorable moment for the fan.

I hope to someday see her at a convention again!

I thought that she was younger than LeVar Burton (He's 53). But she still looks good.
I hope I look that good 12 years from now.

Haven't read the interview yet but if that picture is of her now in 2010, wow. She is one attractive looking woman.

She called on me in the audience at a convention while we lived in Tucson, and I asked her what she does to keep her figure. She said at the time that she was on Jenny Craig and for exercise she was using a kind of bed or cot or something that helped tone without building muscle.

This would have been...late 1980's? I don't think I went to a con after that. At my previous con, I saw Patrick Stewart and sat about 5 feet away from him. Those were the days when you could do that.
