negh'var v sovvie v galaxy v d'deridex

I would definatley put the D'Deridex at the bottom. Its been stated and shown on screen several times that although the ship is big and scary, its bite doesn't come anywhere near its bite.

Now, I am assuming we are talking about which is 'best' in a fight, I don't know why I'masuming that, maybe its the 'v' for versus.

That said, as much as I love the Galaxy class ship, it is not designed for combat, so I would but it second to last.

The top spot goes to the Sovereign, I think that Fed tech is ahead of Klingon tech, the ship is more manouverable and I think it could beat up on a Negh'var.

So:

1) Sovereing
2) Negh'var
3) Galaxy
4) D'Deridex

well I think the negh'var would beat the sovereign because its hull looks it has really thick armour.

1. Sovereign
2. Negh'var
3. Galaxy
4. D'deridex

D'deridex - it is twice as long as the Galaxy but its mass wouldn't be that different and as I've said in another thread it is more show than go. It seems to suit the Romulans that they have this big and intimidating ship. Poor weapons for its apparent size, poor manoeuvrability at impulse, shields and hull didn't seem all that great for the size given some of what we saw during the Dominion War.

Galaxy - DS9 showed it to be an impressive ship during the Dominion War and we see them as big hulking battlewagons. Well armed for an "explorer", a bit lite on torpedo launchers but good phaser coverage and tough as we saw in the Dominion War.

Negh'var - we only saw her once (not counting alternate timelines) and it battered down DS9's shields with its first bombardment. Given it is the most advanced Klingon ship we've seen I think it would very heavily armed, maybe the most heavily armed of the four. Did look a bit slow during the battle but when we saw it leave early it spun around like dancer...so it is hard to tell.

Sovereign - Nemesis was a very impressive showing for the class. You had a ship that was vastly outgunned battling an opponent it couldn't see or detect for 99% of the battle. As with Bisz I think Fed tech is better than Klingons and the Sov more manoeuvrable. In a fight one v one I think this ship would be the defeat all the others and be crowned winner of MORTAL KOMBAT!

They show up in the alternate Janeway future in Endgame

It did too, I completely forgot about that. Not a fantastic showing in that episode. They couldn't stop a shuttle and a Nova class vessel beat them back. Lucky the Nova wasn't on the list of it would have been top!

For my comparison above I'll ignore alternate future timelines and stay in the 2370s.

Sovereign class performed well in Nemesis- but I always got the impression the Scimitar was holding back- not trying to kill Picard.

Somethign to keep in mind about the Negh'var in Endgame ...
It's possible the Klingons never really bothered to upgrade them ... and seeing how this was a separate house working initially independently ...
Plus, stopping a shuttle with an armor that withstands Borg weapons is not likely.
The shuttle was crumbling down quickly without it though ... and besides, as I said, the Feds likely were in a higher tech stage compared to the Klingons in Endgame future, which really makes sense.

rating them as I'd rate a boxer

1st

Sovereign class
PUNCH
Super punching power, has the ability to dish it out like a George Foreman in his prime
FOOTWORK
Great moves. Super Fast, High Maneuverability, moves like Ali but got no cloak :(
BRAINS
A smart ship, kinda untested since we only see them in the movie. Since the Federation crew always have brains lets just give them the benefit of the doubt and say this is a well trained very capable ship
DAMAGE SOAK
Great damage soak, super high durability. Super modulating shields, great armor. Tough enough to take blows from the super powerful Scimitar :techman:

2nd

D'Deridex
PUNCH
Average punching power, but that matters not. The D'Deridex is as good as invisible and a jaw of steel. What good is having all that weight training when your enemies are more cunning and can keep phasing in and out attacking from behind like a deadly ninja. The D'Deridex can wear just about anyone down.
FOOTWORK
Its got moves, not the best moves. But its fast and has an almost impossible to detect Cloaking device
BRAINS
An extremely smart ship from a very advanced Empire, this ship is very Brainy. Should easily be able to analyze weird matter block it, copy it etc heck they even brought Tasha back from the dead. It's crew a well trained, smart and passionate people. There's a reason the Romulans have been giving the Federations Galaxy Class a run for their money :rommie:
DAMAGE SOAK
Soaks up blows, great shield system. Duranium/Tritanium double hulls, super high durability.

3rd

Galaxy
PUNCH
High punch power, probably more than the D'deridex-class with better range and quicker hits but the other two, the Sov and NV have it beat here
FOOTWORK
Good moves. Fast, Good Maneuverability, it can duck, its got speed
but got no cloak :(
BRAINS
A super smart ship, with a few tv series full of science feats to back them up, these eggheads can handle anything from black holes to leathal spatial anomalies to time distortions to the crazy Q entities. Not all crews are made equal, some don't have the brains of Picard and Geordi. If they have an advantage over the Sovereign or Rommie crew its not by much.
DAMAGE SOAK
Good damage soak, high capacity shield system, high density armor, high durability.

4th

Negh'Var
PUNCH
Super punch power, this ship is Mike Tyson on steroids. If he can't punch you out with his first few rushes of crazy combos, the ship will try to bite your ear off :klingon:
FOOTWORK
Not Good. Moves like a zombie, pathetic. If it didn't have the cloak I would label its footwork completely useless. The B'rel Bird of Prey class had much better moves, this ship is bulky and moves like a brick, others ships have made a joke of it
BRAINS
It's an average ship, no great sensors, no science feats and a species that are obsessed with knives and blood rituals. Wouldn't be surprised to see an episode where a Fed or Rommie hacks their ship and just makes it fail while the dumbfounded Klingons just explode. Never bring a knife to a photontorpedo fight. This ship and its crew are in desperate need of a significant upgrade
DAMAGE SOAK
Great damage soak but there really isn't anything else to discuss when the ship has the footwork of a zombie and the crew has brains of a donkey. It ranks 4th because one of the other 3 ships have already destroyed the NV, beaten and blown apart while the Klingons were too busy obsessing over blood or honor or some other crap
