NCC-1701-D Shield Generators on Sternbach's Deck Plans?

All,

Just noticed that the Star Trek TNG Tech Manual lists five shield generators on deck 10 and three on deck 31 but Rick Sternbach's deck plans don't show a "shield generator" symbol on the key and I cannot identify any un-listed symbol in the requisite numbers of the aforesaid decks. Anyone have any ideas where they've got to?

There's little ridges on the hull of Voyager which are marked in the concept art as shield generators, or I remember the artist saying they're shield generators. Similar ribbing is present on the Prometheus on large panels on either side of the hull. The whole shield system could actually be external and not involve a central shield generator.

Except I think there are episodes which allude to a central shield system, but we might be able to take that as meaning the shield system as a whole versions smaller sections.

The 'shield grid' is referenced on numerous occasions throughout Trek series.
Starships (at least those of Federation design) use hull grids (which are probably emitters) as a means to PROJECT the shield around the ship (as KamenRiderBlade mentioned).
The actual shield generator (and its backup) is located inside the ship.

I was talking about the generators inside the hull not the grid. I was wondering if the apparent absence of the ten shield generators mentioned in the Technical Manual meant that Mr. Sternbach had gone away from that interpretation of the way it worked or if it was just a simple oversight. The fact that the SIF and IDF generators are on the key leads me to suspect the latter but I'd love to hear from him.

This was one of the things Rick was planning to remedy in those revisions for that Japanese project...?

I JUST learned about that yesterday. I do totally want those revised plans released. Does he still want to do them? Is there a way fans can push that project?

If Hero Collector(?) were selling enough copies of their existing books, I could see them doing it someday.
