Nacelle Dimensions

Let's try this, the nacelles of the Galaxy class starship are not the same width fore and aft, as you move aft the nacelles get wider, "if" the dimensions of the nacelles were known and listed on blueprints would there be 2 measurements for width?

I wish the blueprints of the E-D had more information as regards dimensions, and other technical information.
As it is all there is is a scale ruler at the bottom of each page.
(And because my hands tremble slightly I can't use a ruler to get accurate measurement.)

Long ago, I measured out the nacelles as shown in top, side, and bottom views of the Nebula-class from an issue of "Star Trek:The Magazine". Given a length of 442 meters (the actual Nebula length is still a matter of debate), the nacelles came out as 251.5 meters long x 53.1 wide x 32.2 high.

I do have the Galaxy blueprints as well; will take a yardstick to them later on and get back.

OK, here are the stats from the blueprint. It differs a bit from "Starship Spotter", though.

Galaxy-class is 641.0 meters long x 465.3 meters wide x 139.4 meters draft (height)...by way of comparison, "Spotter" says 641.0 long x 467.1 wide x 137.5 high.

Nacelle measures 251.5 long x 53.1 wide x 32.2 high.

Though you didn't ask for them, the other measurements are:Primary hull 367.9 long x 465.3 wide x 59.5 high, and secondary hull 400.9 long x 143.8 wide x 114.5 high.

The ship class is 302.4 meters wide across the nacelles at their widest point, and 196.2 meters between the nacelles.

Hope this helps.

^Sounds like you just answered that.

Thanks SicOne for the help, you are however forgetting that the nacelles are not the same width along theirwhole length, they get wider the as you move aft. (Look at sojourner's comment about this.)
I read the length given for the nacelles and thought of the Miranda class starship which is a tiny bit shorter but just about equal in height.

Again thanks for the help!

James

^ You are correct, sir; the width I stated are the nacelles at their widest. Additionally, the space between the nacelles that I gave was measured at their most narrow point.
