Musicians who have been in Star Trek

I know Mick Fleetwood (a big Trekkie, IIRC) played an alien ambassador in TNG. And Michelle Phillips from Mamas and the Papas appeared as one of Picard's old flames, in TNG's 'We'll Always Have Paris'. Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine/Audioslave was in VOY's 'Good Shepherd'. And Iggy Pop was in DS9 as a Vorta in 'The Magnificent Ferengi'.

Are there any other famous musicians you know of who are Trek fans, or have been in Trek, which I've missed here? Is there anyone involved in the music business who you'd like to see play a role in a future Trek production?

I think David Bowie would be good on Trek (he's practically an alien already!) ;) And Ozzy Osbourne would make a good, loudmouthed, violent Klingon captain!

Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner! ;) :p

But seriously, I'd love to see Robert Smith (of The Cure), though I don't really see a way in which he could be included plausibly. :(

And I think you pretty much named every musician (at least the famous ones) that appeared on Trek. And yes, Bowie would be great, too! (At least his wife appeared in ST VI!)

Rene' Arbonjensouuoljr;ioad. OK! I can't spell it. You know who I mean. He sang in The Little Mermaid. Does that count?

HA! I've found another one! And it's not Mick Fleetwood! ;)

David Soul appeared in TOS' "The Apple" as Makora. He's best known as Detective Ken "Hutch" Hutchinson from Starsky and Hutch but also released several singles as a musician.

Oh, now I'm so proud of myself. :D

He sang on The Little Mermaid!! ROFL!!!

Grace Lee Whitney. In the 70s she sang with her band, "Star!", and released a single (with the song Disco Trekkin').

Tim Russ also sings. And Brent Spiner. Both have released albums.

No. You're probably thinking of Mick Fleetwood.

Vanessa Williams appeared in an hour long blooper reel masquerading as a DS9 episode.

Also, I hear Morn is quite the opera tenor.

The parts with Vanessa are the only reasons to watch that one at all.

While I can understand a certain amount of confusion about this, are you quite certain it wasn't actually Mick Fleetwood?

Well, I want to clear that up: It was ... Mick Fleetwood.
