Beltran confirmed as 'Captain Chakotay'.
along with

Daveed Diggs will voice Commander Tysess — Diggs is a Grammy and Tony-award winning member of the original Broadway cast of Hamilton, and currently stars on the TNT television adaptation of Snowpiercer.

Jameela Jamil will voice Ensign Asencia — Jamil is best know in the United States for her portrayal of Tahani Al-Jamil in NBC’s The Good Place, and is also one of the leads in the upcoming Disney+ Marvel Studios series She-Hulk.

Jason Alexander will voice Doctor Noum — The actor still best known for his role as George Costanza on Seinfeld returns to Star Trek, after appearing as Kurros in the 1999 Voyager episode “Think Tank,” and hosting the 1999 UPN special Ultimate Trek: Star Trek’s Greatest Moments.

Andorians and Tellarites.. yeah... I'm liking this more and more.. :) Hope the Andorian looks more like the Picard/Enterprise type and no so much the Discovery type.. but cant wait to see CommanderTysess! :)

Wow, that's interesting news. Captain Chakotay, you say? Hopefully, it's a promotion as opposed to a Krenim timeline. ;)

I love The Good Place, so it will be awesome seeing Jameela Jamil in something else. Well, hearing her voice, that is.

Unrelated to Trek I read she's also popping up in She-Hulk, along with Tatiana Maslany. All of my geek universes are colliding as I was obsessed with Orphan Black when that was on. :techman:

Andorians and Tellerites and Trills, oh my!

Maybe Chakotay was the Captain of the USS Protostar? Might make sense.. If you're going to send a Starship back to the Delta Quadrant.. and Janeway is busy being an Admiral doing Admiralty things.... next best pick would definitely be Chakotay.

Also.. I wonder if there is a relationship between Jankom Pog and Doctor Noum.. MAYBE.. there's another Starfleet ship looking for the USS Protostar as well?? Maybe Doc Noum is looking for his son?

So almost a year ago this site posted a rumored cast list of five individuals, of which only one of them has now been confirmed: Doctor Noum. The other four are either changed from their original premises or were fake to begin with, although the fact that Noum is an actual character and the Vau’Nakat race was mentioned makes it seem that the former option is correct.

The five listed here (Torgo, Barniss Frex, Nandi, Noum, Vezria) don't have to correspond with the four listed in the article (Chakotay, Tysses, Asencia, Noum). There is no command staff in the Illuminerdi Five, so they may have left Tysses out in order not to reference Chakotay (who wouldn't be on a casting sheet, because he is a returning character).

I think, though, that Jamil's Asencia (the Trill Ensign) is probably the same character as the Vau N'Akat character Vezria, who is masquerading as a Starfleet Ensign to undermine the crew and ultimately destroy the Federation (probably related to Gwyn and working with the Diviner).

Torgo, Frex, and Nandi all sound like they're working outside the Federation (or on the periphery) and are unrelated to Chakotay's investigatory ship (which is Chakotay, Tysses, Noum, and Vezria/Asencia). Probably encountered throughout the season as guest stars, showcasing Starfleet encroachment into the Delta Quadrant.

Might be either a spy or a sleeper agent.
