Modern Warfare 2 officially renamed to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

The change apparently came in the midst of a consumer study showing a large fraction of VG consumers who were not aware that "Modern Warfare 2" was a CALL OF DUTY title.

Note that it isn't called "Call of Duty 4 (or 6): Modern Warfare 2". That would get confusing.

This isn't surprising. "Modern Warfare 2" was pretty lame and generic anyway.

I'll play this game once I'm done with Star Wars: Dark Forces 3: Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Academy.

And to repost my joke in another thread, the upcoming COD World War I first-person shooter will be called Call of Duty Origins: The First Call of Duty: Before Modern Warfare.
