Today I finally got around to watch the first episode of the new BBC One drama series Luther starring The Wire's Idris Elba. I really loved the trailers and I am pleased to say that the first episode lived up to my expectations.
Luther is, as the BBC puts it....
It reminded me a lot of The Shield crossed with Silence of the Lambs, especially as the main villain, a woman named Alice who kills her parents in episode 1, manages to elude capture by Luther in the first episode but continues to cast a shadow over Luther's private and professional life during the first season.
So, did anyone see it, and what did you guys think?

A dark psychological crime drama starring Idris Elba as Luther, a man struggling with his own terrible demons, who might be as dangerous as the depraved murderers he hunts.
