Season 6 Soundtrack info

Academy Award winner Michael Giacchino’s music has played a huge role in the series from the very beginning, and this latest collection of Lost musical highlights is a two-disc set, featuring two and a half hours of Season 6’s touching and thrilling score.

It will be out on Septermber 14th.

I'm glad it's a 2 disk set because there's a lot of new themes for the different characters this season and it couldn't fit all on one disk. :techman::techman:

Awesome news! I haven't gotten season 5 yet, but I love all of the other scores. I can't wait. :D

Very excited that it's a 2-disc set. The finale alone deserves its own disc (and I wonder if that's what they'll do?). Someone ripped the music from "The End" and put it up online. I listen to it all the time.

This may wind up being the best of the soundtracks. I wonder if they'll ever do a release of music from the show that they never put on the soundtracks. I'm assuming that there is some music they never released on a soundtrack.

Yes, there is more music not on disc, considering that each episode of "Lost" featured at least 20-35 minutes of music newly composed and recorded, through all 6 seasons of episodes, equals a hell of a lot of music. As it stands there are single disc albums for 1, 2, 4 and 5 and a 2 disc set for season 3, so these are all just highlights from each season, sort of a "greatest hits" of musical moments from each season. To put the full score from every single episode on album would make for a massive 50-60 disc collection.

No one here would know, only Robert Townson, who runs the label Varese Sarabande and he is a very tight-lipped & secretive individual (nice guy to talk with, though). It could be a good idea, but it would be an expensive set for some fans (8-9 CDs) and Varese rarely repackages items, except the last three Jerry Goldsmith scores and the three OMEN expanded soundtracks.

I think a lot of the music used in The End was reused music from season 6. A lot of new character themes were introduced in season 6 and I think they were reused in the finale.
