I really love that Matthew Fox and Elizabeth Mitchell got their first acting nominations! About time!

At first, I was a little surprised that Elizabeth Mitchell scored a nomination for her brief return, but her reunion scene with Sawyer in "The End" was absolutely perfect so I'm very happy to see her get recognition.

Thrilled to see Giacchino get a nomination for the score in "The End." Some amazing and emotional music in the finale.

Terry O'Quinn and Michael Emerson continue to get their Emmy love, but it's nice to see Matthew Fox get some recognition, too. He's usually left out, isn't he?

I think Matthew Fox really stepped it up this year. Too bad all the awards will go to Mad Men though.

I don't follow the Emmys, but once you start to win you have a tendency to keep winning even if your performance level drops off or others are better (Shatner for Boston Legal, Franz for NYPD Blue). Has Mad Men been cleaning house every year?

Shatner only won once for Boston Legal. Both O'Quinn and Emerson have beaten him in the years that have followed.

Mad Men has only won twice for drama series. I'd hardly call that a trend. LOST managed to beat a four time Emmy winning series, The West Wing, during it's first season. Something like that can happen again.

Good for Lost, even tho I'll be rooting for Dexter instead. ;) I love both, but S4 of Dexter was just stronger than S6 of Lost.

Emerson's nomination really should have gone to Nestor Carbonnel or Josh Holloway.

I have to say (much to my own surprise) that Matthew Fox did a very good job this season and he certainly deserved the nomination. No surprise that O'Quinn and Emerson were nominated once again, but I'm surprised that Mitchell got a guest nomination. Yes, her performance was wonderful, but it was just one short scene.

I'm not surprised that the show wasn't nominated for best script. While the season as a whole was fantastic, but no single episode really stood out, not even the token crazy Desmond episode.

It's the "the show has ended" syndrome. That's when nominations can go to people who were previously overlooked. I think that this nomination is really for Mitchell's entire work on Lost, from season 3 onwards.

I don't mean to bash Elizabeth Mitchell but I'm really surprised that she would get an Emmy nod. I honestly believe that she was the worst actress on the show, her scenes had no emotion and were just...blah. If I could change the series of Lost I would first take her part out. She was pretty much useless.

But I know that's not a popular opinion. I just don't get why people like her at all! I am happy for Matthew Fox for finally getting his dues.

Matthew Fox's wordless performance at the very end - a man who has finally fulfilled his destiny and now knows he is dying - is particularly amazing. I only noticed it the second time through (of course - the first time, my brain was too busy screaming OMG! THIS IS THE END!!! for me to notice much of anything.) :rommie:

I didn't like her at first. She seemed to have one expression: smirk. I wanted to slap it right off her face. But I grew to like her in S4/5.

Huh. And I thought she was really great in season 3. Well, she was always, but season 3 is when she had her best material, though season 5 is close behind.

I always loved Juliet and thought the actress always gave a great performance. She's one the reasons why Season Three is my fav.

No emotion? Her character was full of emotion, but she tried so hard to hide it. It's pretty clear if you compare her Island self to her flashback self. She was quite spirited in her pre-Island life.

The problem is her facial expression. It was always the same, that stupid half smirk with the blank eyes.
