Location visit: Deneva

So my son is a video editor...and as a result I decided to try to do some videos just for fun and to relate. It's been fascinating creating content (mainly for my own amusement) and learning new software.

I just finished a video about going to the location of Operation: Annihilate (aka TRW aka Northrup
Grumman).

I'm sure I got some of the details wrong, but it was a hoot documenting how the crew used the location to create Deneva.

It's a short video. Feel free to give me pointers on how to improve.

Works for me and I think the then/now approach really helped. I think you could have interspersed the map in between the various locations to give a better sense of how things related on the larger scale.
(and -1 on your Trekkie score for not going to UCLA  )

Thank you for the feedback on the map!

I spent my undergrad at UCLA and the thought of braving the 405 was too much for my gentle soul.

@PCz911 A very understandable excuse. I only have ever driven through LA—and that back in the 80s—and I really have no fond memories of doing so.
And the second constant in the universe—after the bureaucratic mindset one—is that traffic only gets worse as time goes by.

That's fair. Not so far, as the crow flies, but a small eternity can separate Redondo Beach from Westwood by freeway (though Sepulveda and Centinela might provide an alternative route, depending upon time of travel.)

Somewhere here I have some call sheets for "ST III: The Search for Spock" and one of them has brief directions to find and "climb the steps of Mount Selaya", which was at a Los Angeles university.

The distinctive fountain at Occidental College is mentioned here:

I suppose I could do the field trip there but…. If anyone is familiar with LA… the freeways are brutal. lol

I did end up at trona (STV) for a work shoot but didn’t have time to match shots with the movie.

Hard core fans may berate me, but driving up to Vasquez is a major event.

At this point, the desire to have Friday's child and shore leave matching shots are waning. I loved arena and Deneva was just up the road….

anyway, open to recommendations
