"Legacy"

Plomeek Broth

I watched this episode last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved the warring factions on Tasha Yar's lawless home planet. The actress who played Yar's sister was a super hottie and looked like an 80s Linda Hamilton clone. She especially looked delicious in the catsuit when she was on the Enterprise. I liked the card trick by Riker in the opening sequence as well. Yar's sister - you knew she was going to betray the Federation, but you were still rooting for her redemption. Again, this woman was
Is this episode viewed as a stinker, average, or classic by most fans?

I can't speak for anyone else, but form me, yes, the woman who played Yar's sister was hot, and I thought the rest of the episode was trite and contrived.
Just my two cents worth.

Don't care much for this episode... But yeah, Beth Toussaint (who played Ishara Yar) looked very fine in that catsuit.

I've never found the entire "Turkana IV" concept to be credible.

The Federation colonised it and it turned anarchic with rape gangs?

Why didn't the Federation storm the place at the first sign of trouble with legions of troops to take back a perfectly sound class M planet from the lowlifes that had taken over the colony?

Agreed on all points and...Beth Toussaint actually is Linda Hamilton's sister. I thought it was common knowledge.

Umm, since when has the Federation cared that much about its colonies? The colonies don't seem to care much about the Federation, at any rate. And Class M planets are a dime in a dozen.

At least Turkana made a clear cut: they declared independence in every practical respect, ceasing to be a UFP worry. The Feds apparently tolerate that. What they take a dimmer view on is when folks like Maquis go all rogue, yet still pretend to be UFP citizens entitled to UFP protection...

The chick was nice, but the episode was blah. Wow, it's Tasha Yar's sister...as if we still cared about Tasha Yar or her origins. The crew trusts her, because you know, she's Tasha Yar's sis and they are a bunch of fools.
