Spoilers Kaos: Starring Jeff Goldblum and Billie Piper

I haven't seen it yet, but Iit looks interesting, so I'll probably watch it eventually.

Since I'm a huge fan of Jeff Goldblum and Suzy Izzard, I'm definitely checking it out...when I have the time. I'm still playing catch up with Orphan Black: Echoes and I'm already behind on Rings of Power since I didn't realize we were getting three episodes yesterday.

When I first saw the title of this thread, my mind immediately jumped to a new take on Get Smart focusing on the bad guys. Jeff Goldblum would make a marvelous Siegfried, don't you think?

As good as the actual show sounds, today is the last day of my Netflix subscription that I only purchased for the sake of watching Star Trek Prodigy, so I will have to check this out on another day. :(

I'm a sucker for anything to do with Greek Mythology, so we watched the first episode today. Goldblum is great as always. The writing and acting are good and I want to see where this goes. The idea that Riddy is no longer in love with her husband intrigues me.

Finished it last night.
I really like how they start off with the familiar plot of the myths (who doesn't know the basic story of Orpheus? Or Theseus?), but don't necessarily adhere to the traditional outcomes. So it leaves some surprises for the audiences.

It's a weird show. Whimsical and silly in one scene, then instantly gives you whiplash to the dark and disturbing and back again. Almost too dark in some scenes. But enough can't be said about Goldblum. In fact, I really liked the whole cast.

Indeed. I just finished Ep 3 and Ari was definitely on the receiving end of some of that whiplash. On a related note
While Minos is obviously not a good guy, it's not impossible to understand what he did at the end of that episode. Even if he didn't want to be brutal dictator, he no doubt had a pretty good idea what would happen to him and his entire country if he defied Poseidon and let the Trojans remain pardoned.

....Aaaand cancelled.

This is why I hate Netflix.

So, did it end on a cliffhanger so I can stop watching?

I really hate Netflix sometimes. Thing is I haven't watched Kaos yet, but it was on my list, the fact that Netflix just dispense with it when it's been streaming less than two months is just ridiculous, then again this is Netflix which canned Lockwood & Co despite that being hugely popular.

I realise tv companies have to make decisions relatively quickly if you're to secure production staff and the actors for a second season, but you'd think they could give a show a little while longer to find its audience.

I'm unlikely to give it a go now sadly.

It really is a self-defeating vicious circle: Dump an entire season on a single night (usually with little promotion), give it almost no chance to develop word of mouth and then announce its cancelled so that even less people might give it a chance.

I'm a little shocked that Netflix has actually stuck to the full season release schedule, most of the other streaming services have stuck to weekly releases for the majority of their series and it's worked out well for them.

Me too, and it keeps everyone on the same page when it comes to what's going on. I go on a lot of sites like IGN and EW that post about what's going on on shows, and it's a pain in the ass they're posting spoilers for the whole season and I'm only on the second or third episode. They're usually pretty good about not putting spoilers in their article's titles, but some still slip through.

100% this. Imagine if "Lost" had dumped an entire season overnight. It would have probably only lasted one season because there was no word of mouth or watercooler talk the next day where everyone discusses each week's new revelation.
