Jerk = Yes, Deserved His Fate = ?

Stiletto

Fleet Captain
Fleet Captain
I was watching that great 1983 movie Trading Places (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0086465/) staring Dan Aykroyd and Eddie Murphy, in the movie, the two rich Brothers (Randolph and Mortimer Duke) hire a shady man named Clarence Beeks to steal the stock market Orange Juice report a day early so that they can know wiether to buy or sell when the markets opened up in the morning. Clarence helps them in this scheme and at the end even helps them to try to take down Dan Aykroyd and Eddie Murphy. Ultimately, Clarence is captured, his mouth is duct taped, he is glued into a gorilla suit and then put into a cage with an amorous male gorilla on its way back to Africa. The last we see of Clarence Beeks is his beaten eyes and the implied notion that the male gorilla had his way with him.

Now, tell me, does he really deserve this fate? Yes, I agree he was a jerk and did a lot of low, morally wrong things by helping the Duke brothers steal money from the stock market, but his ultimate fate is much worse than it seems he deserves. Even the Enron jerks didn't get off so harshly. That's only my opinion.

What other movie Jerks do you know that have received an unjust fate?

Considering what his actions did to Dan Akyrod, despite how overexaggerated the effect was, anal rape by a gorilla (how did he get through the costume?) would probably be preferable to the constant anal raping he would get in prison. I'd say he got off lightly, all things considered.

As for unjust fates, I'd have to go with Boba Fett. While he's been retconned into an ass who deserved it, in the original trilogy he was just a bounty hunter doing his job. It's not like Han Solo was a paladin or anything; the guy was an arms smuggler and wanted by the standing government of the galaxy. Hell, Fett didn't really do much except tail the Falcon and alter Vader of his location.

Those bullies in AvP Requeim...head melted by acid is pretty hardcore.

(C U AT DA PAWTEE) Richter's bespeckled sidekick in TOTAL RECALL, stabbed by a midget hooker or something.

Captain Needa...took responsibility for something that wasn't his fault anymore than it was the entire fleet's (how long had they be after the Falcon?) and Vader rewarded his honor with death. Vader = raging asshole.

Alec Trevelyan aka 006 from Goldeneye. As Capt. Ramsey would say, a man with a serious weed up his ass and a legitimate gripe. Didn't deserve to go in as painful a manner as he did.

"For England, James?"

Sofie Fatale, in Kill Bill Vol. 1. It's not like she tried to kill you Beatrix, she just gabbed on her phone while other people tried to kill you. Hell, she never even carries a weapon. Was she a vain heartless asshole, who needed to be taught a lesson? Sure.

Did she deserve to have her arms sawed off, & to be rolled down a dirt hill into a hospital parking lot? Not so much, but what do you expect from a woman who was trained by a guy who'd snatch your eye out for calling him a fool? Not a whole lot of temperance in that school, I guess

Wikus from District 9. That transformation must have been agony.
He deserved worse in my opinion. He was a despicable person. Anyone who jokes about aborting children, especially from a sentient and sapient species, and offers souvenirs of the act is beyond redemption in my eyes. Doubly so since it was obvious not his first time doing it. Not by a long shot.

Of course he deserved it. Everyone knows that rape is comedy. Especially if it's female on male, or even more hilariously when it's male on male.

It was even funnier when that Panda raped Homer Simpson.

Most of them. It's a bit of a coincidence but I was looking at a Listverse article about the top ten cartoon theme songs. Obviously, Transformers was in there. Apparently, the Autobots wage their battle to destroy the evil forces of the Decepticons.

Aren't heroes only supposed to kill their enemies if they have to ?

NOTHING beats Taylor BLOWING up the EARTH after Dr. Zauis refuses to help him in "Beneath the Planet of the Apes". Zaius says, "You ask ME to help YOU? Man is EVIL!! Capable of NOTHING but destruction . . . " Which Taylor then proves him absolutely correct by triggering the Doomsday Bomb--ending ALL life on Earth.

Zaius was a fascinating character because he was NEVER "evil" or even wrong. Taylor WAS a tremendous threat to his culture and civilization and Zaius was RIGHT to try to fight him to preserve it. He KNEW the history of the world and how Man had brought his OWN downfall upon himself. He tells Taylor in "POTA", " . . . the Forbidden Zone was once a paradise! YOUR breed made a desert of it ages ago." True.

Did Zaius deserve to die, have his entire culture destroyed and life on the planet extinguished because he spoke the truth? I don't think so.

^That's all easily explained by the deleted scene where Taylor talks about what happened to his old friend Clarence Beeks.

Here's another. In Aliens, Carter Burke (Paul Reiser) sent colonists to the the same planet that Ripley found Aliens on. They all died. Then he releases two facehuggers in the room that Ripley and Newt were sleeping in the hopes of getting them to Earth to be studied. Carter Burke, jerk = YES YES YES, deserved his fate? = Most Definately! His fate should have been tons worse, he just died in a fire fight, he should have received a face hugger himself, and it be allowed to mature!

No way did he deserve to get anally raped for that! He did deserve to get anally raped for this though.

There was a scene that was in the first draft of the script, and was filmed, which included a cocooned Burke. It was never included in any version of the finished film, though. I don't know if the DVDs have it as a deleted scene, but it's there.
