Many of the pictures from the set of the aliens in the film seem to look almost identical to the Jem'Hadar. If they are this would seem really odd to do this if they are .The dominion are located in the gamma quadrant which is the other side of the galaxy. The fedartion did not encounter them until to 24th century. Admittedly this is an alternative reality so things can be different.I will guess we will wait to see the film.

That ain't no Jem'Hadar. They look a lot less alike than many other Trek aliens do.

The director himself has already commented it isn't a Jem'Hadar I believe. Might be mistaken though.

Anyway, looking at the picture... sure, looks like. But definatly not a Jem'Hadar

All the Swarm aliens we've seen so far are different. Krall looks like a Gargoyle, this guy looks a bit like a Jem'Hadar, there's another who looks like a pig. It seems like The Swarm are the Evil Alliance of Ugly Aliens

There's been some discussion of this question already, over in the STAR TREK BEYOND thread. Consensus was that, while the appearance is similar, it's probably some other alien species we haven't seen before.

One other thing:
When posting embedded pictures, you should be sure to host the image you post on an image-sharing account which is registered to you, rather than hotlinking from TrekCore or some other site which has not given you permission to do so. I'll convert this to a link for you.

I hope they explain this, they did this shit in Insurrection with the Son'a.

I assume he means that the Son'a had two servitor species working for them as soldiers and crew, though I don't know why he calls it "shit" or suggests it went unexplained, since they explained it in the film. Nor do I understand why that's a bad thing to depict a foe that has subject species working for them.

They did explain it, when Riker and Troi were getting all flirty.

When? I didn't pay that much attention to insurrection cause I was only a kid, but I remember being very confused as to how they had a ship full of non-sona'aa

Insurrection said:
RIKER: Half a century ago they conquered two primitive races, the Tarlac and the Ellora, and then integrated them into their culture as a labour class. ...Look at this. The Son'a are known to have produced vast quantities of the narcotic ketracel-white. Their ships are rumoured to be equipped with isolytc subspace weapons outlawed by the second Khitomer Accords.

They look about as much like Jem'Hadar as that one dude in Star Trek VI with his balls on his knees.
Obviously they're not Jem'Hadar, but trying to persuade others into thinking they look nothing alike is absurd. There's definitely strong similarities between the two.

Well, one could say that the founders knew what this species was--and used that as a master mold for the t Jem'Hadar, and hooked them on drugs for control.

Kiln people--but addicts and a longer life span

This alien looks as much like a Jem'Hadar as the Klingons in STID looked like Klingons.

Yes, this could be a re-imagined design. But if that were true, I think the older makeup was more menacing.

But, as has been discussed, this is most likely not a Jem'Hadar.

I think the connection is that Rua'fo's entourage was comprised of a bunch of ugly aliens, and that seems to be the case with the bad guys on STB as well.
