Jefferies' first shuttle concept model kit

Forbin

Fleet Admiral
Admiral
This is a resin kit by Cozmic Models. The kit itself is fairly typical of resin kits. I think it's 3D printed, but the hull quality is perfectly smooth. It included clear windows, but they are so thick they distort the interior, and they don't really fit well. The best part of the kit is a full set of 1/72 scale printed crew members, one set sitting and one set standing. I'm not find of painting people that small, so I just did Kirk. The decals were for the Galileo 1701/7, but I thought it should be shuttle #1, with a more appropriate name. They were also in the wrong font (they used Machine fer pity's sake), so I made my own.

Very well done! Looks like the kit version is scaled up a bit compared to Jeffries concept drawing where it looked more like a personal craft than a large people mover.

I think it's too big for 1/72 scale also. For one thing, the seats are huge. When you sit one of the supplied 1/72 scale crew in one, it looks like a child in an overstuffed recliner. The crew are definitely 1/72 scale, though, and the sculpts are really nice. They even got Janice's hair  .
