IMGUR WTF???

So, been trying to load in some new images into IMGUR and they completely hosed up the upload functionality recently. Maybe I'm just getting too old to make the leap of logic necessary to negotiate their horrible violations of intuitive GUI design, but it doesn't seem to allow you to upload images into a selected pre-defined album.

I tried selecting the album in the dropdown (which filters the images already there), clicked on the new "New Post" button, uploaded them (without any option to select which album they should go to like before), and they get put in "non-album images" or multiple "untitled" albums. I mean, seriously, WHY the fuck do they do stupid shit like this that make zero sense to anyone? Why must anyone change things for the sake of change and think it's a good thing to do?

Very frustrated. Any info or procedure would be appreciated...

This annoyed me too. After calming down I deduced that once you have uploaded a new image you can move it to an existing album by going into one of those album folders via a dropdown menu then from one of the dropdown menus on the album page select the newly uploaded image/s you want to add to it. There might be a save button to press to finish the process.

Thanks very much. I tried that and it did work, but they turned a fairly easy process into a ridiculously over-complicated multi-click and unintuitive gauntlet of guesswork. I’ve been a software developer for over 40 years and I always strive to make my systems easier and more efficient to use over time. Changes like this are anathema to good design and make me want to hurl.

I’m glad I’m not the only one having issues with Imgur. I used it to post artwork here in my thread The Cardassian Sphere and the next day the images I’ve uploaded completely disappear leaving nothing but broken links in their wake. Maddening.

I've always found their album system more confusing than some of the other, simpler image hosts I've used before. I've also noticed (annoyingly) that you can't simply drop images onto your home gallery like I was doing before. I have to select upload manually to add newer stuff.

They're definitely having some issues - I've had some people saying they can't see images that I've posted, whilst others were saying they look fine.

This bugs me as well, it adds nothing but extra steps to uploading - I shake my cane as well!
