Ideas for Polls?

where'sSaavik?

Vice Admiral

Hey folks.

I saw this in some other fora and thought it might be a good idea for us too (Heaven forbid I have an original idea).

Anyway, if you've got ideas for polls we should run in the ENT forum, please post them here. Thus far I think we've had Favorite Episode and Favorite Character.

Thanks! :)

Who is the most important character in the series base on the episodes seen so far?

No, forget it.

Opened mouth, inserted foot, managed to pull it out before I went too far. Sorry for the hijack wS?, I'll give it some thought and come back with something serious.

How 'bout a multiple choice quiz-like thing concerning what each character does after Enterprise's three-hour tour is over. I.e.

After serving aboard Enterprise for
1) 1
2) 3
3) 7
4) 15
5) More than Sulu

years, Trip goes on to
1) Become chief engineer aboard another ship
2) Becomes captain of his own ship
3) Returns home to Florida and starts his own engineering firm (or whatever you engineer folk do)
4) Becomes the 22nd-century Emeril Legasse with his badass pecan pie and "Son-of-a-Bitch, That's Good" Ribs and "Charmin'" B-B-Q Sauce
5) Has a falling out with Archer over their shared, yet sublimated love for T'Pol, gets into a fist fight with Archer on the bridge, compelling an already-depressed Reed to choose between his captain and his friend, which pushes him over the edge, and leads him to found Section 31. Storms out of a meeting, pushing Starfleet brass to red flag his file, which results in his being stationed on Vulcan, to a non-job job, where he is bored to the point of depression, finds himself in T'Pol's home desert, and winds up having a tawdry, kinky relationship with her in a tent. Returns home a devastated yet oddly satiated man. Gets a house boat on Pensacola Bay where he receives visits from his old Enterprise friends, whom he tells all his old stories again and again.

- Possible replacements for Berman or Braga (Piller, Behr, R.Moore, J.Taylor, Nimoy etc)

- Aliens people like to see on ENT (Tellarites, Cardassians, Gorn, Orions etc)

- Story arcs (Temporal Cold War, Romulans/Romulan War, Vulcans/Andorians/Birth of Federation, Klingons)

Who would you have playing the Characters of ENT if not the ones already cast?

Five, of course.

Have you posted this in the latest Trip and or Reed threads?

Thanks for the laugh, Thang

What should the next series be?

  • Before Archer (pre-ENT)
  • Same time-frame as Archer (contemporary to ENT)
  • Immediately following Archer (post-ENT)
  • Half we between Archer and Kirk (connection between ENT-TOS)
  • Same time as Kirk (contemporary to TOS)
  • Immediately following Kirk (post-TOS)
  • Half we between Kirk and Picard (connection between TOS-STNG/DS9/VOY)
  • Same time as Picard (contemporary to STNG/DS9/VOY)
  • Immediately following Picard (post-STNG/DS9/VOY)
  • Long time beyond Picard (post-post-STNG/DS9/VOY)

Contemporary series would be in the same time frame, telling stories that deal with the same general settings and situations, but are not connected to or continuations of any stories of the parallel series.

The Post series would be more or less sequels to the series they follow. New, but look-alike, actors would be required to pick up the roles of actors that can't or won't continue their characters if they were required for the series. In the case of TOS it would be Kirk and crew in the years between the end of the original series and ST:TMP. (This would probably require all the actors to be new actors playing the original characters.)

The Connecting series would be to bridge the gaps between the series in history and technology - basically, how did things Archer's time get to where they ended up in Kirk's and then how did they get from Kirk's to Picard's.

Which character would you like to see return

1)Colonel Grat
2)The Tandaran Spy chick from 2D&2N's
3)Cutler
4)Crewman Kelly (from "Vox Sola")
5)The guy from "Fortunate Son"
6)Klaang
7)etc.

I'd say avoid people that we already know for sure are going to be coming back like Silik, FG, Rostov (who will be in "The Crossing"), Chef and Shran (who would probably win).

Just some of those we aren't sure if they are returning or if they were one off characters. :)

Ok, you lost me there. Is it Tucker or Reed who gets lucky with T'Pol and gets a houseboat. Cuz that's pretty cool. :p

Should there be a gay character, yes or no?

Should there be crossovers from or to other centuries, yes or no?

If so, should it be with cast members from:

TOS
TNG
DS9
VOY
Star Wars
B5
Dr. Who

If it were required for a good story, would it be okay for someone from the Enterprise crew to see a Romulan's face? Yes or no.

Should we see the Earth/Romulan war during ENT, and if so, when?

ASAP
S3
S4
etc...

Should we see the Birth of the Federation and if so when?

ASAP
S3
etc...
In the final episode of the series.

:D If I were T'Pol, it'd prolly be both of 'em who got lucky.

I wonder what he'd name the houseboat? Hmm. The Inviolable Vulcan, perhaps.

I agree with Termis that a poll on a possible gay character would be good; we've had plenty of threads on the topic, but never a definitive poll on what percentage of members of this forum would want to see it happen. I think the multiple choice answers to "Should Enterprise have a gay character?" could be:

1. Yes, and it should be a regular character.
2. Yes, but it should only be a recurring character.
3. Yes, but only in the form of a non-recurring guest character.
4. No.

A poll on "What do you think of the Temporal Cold War arc?" could have the following possible answers:
1. It should be featured more, as a major arc.
2. It should be an occassionally recurring arc, as it is now.
3. It should be wrapped up soon and then dispensed with.
4. It's a bad idea that should never even come up again.

What should the producers do with Mayweather:
1. Give him more substantive character development and more screen time.
2. Keep him as is, as a very minor character.
3. Get rid of the character altogether.

These are some really great ideas, guys. We'll try to start some of them over the next few days. Keep the ideas coming! :D
