Idea for a AVP/Star Trek crossover

Hello this is my first thread on this site.

I've have been developing this idea for a Star Trek AVP crossover ever since I started my Star Trek marathon two years ago.

The main idea is where the Star Trek universe and the Alien/Predator universes are alternate to each other, kind of like a mirror-verse.

For instance lets take Kirk, Kirk from the Trek universe is the captain of the Enterprise and is of course a Star Fleet officer. While the Kirk in the adjacent AVP-verse would have been a Colonial Marine.

Sorry for double posting but I'm not quite sure where to begin, do I write from the character's prospective or from a historical one?

Character's perspective. Otherwise, it'll read like a dry historical document rather than a character-driven story.

Oh, and canonically it's Starfleet, one word.

Good luck! I'm curious to see what you come up with. :)

Oh, thanks for that.

Ah, so its just Starfleet.

Mk, I will brain storm further.

I was struggling which side should I focus more, me being a huge ALIEN-fan wants to put the story in ALIEN-verse but seeing I am on a Star Trek website, lead me to doing a back and forth thing with the universes.

Some things that you may want to consider, technology-wise, as your story progresses.

The technology in the Star Trek universe is significantly more advanced (even in Kirk's time) to that of the AVP-verse. Meaning, a Starfleet phaser set to disintegrate would have no trouble completely vaporizing a xenomorph without splashing it's acid-blood everywhere.

Additionally, Starfleet sensors would likely have little difficulty in detecting xenomorphs, unless a logical reason for them not to is available. Seeing as xenomorphs were created by the Engineers as a biological weapons system, there's nothing to say that the Engineers didn't design the xenomorphs to be invisible to electromagnetic and energy-based sensors.

Despite their technological advancement, that would mean that the Colonial Marines' comparatively primitive motion trackers would be of more use than the more advanced tricorders fielded by Starfleet.

Just some food for thought...

Well as for the phasers, I've always toyed with the idea that beam weapons, like lasers and phasers, would just bounce off the xenomorph's bio-metallic carapace. Not saying the phasers/laser wouldn't work, just it wouldn't be an instant kill.

That said, I treat plasma weapons differently seeing they are more like a glob of energy rather than a focused beam.

When I write my Alien stories, I like to draw from the AVP expanded universe, primarily the Alien RPG, the Video Games, and the Dark Horse Comics. Anything that can boost the xenomorphs overall threat level.

I hope I didn't come off as rude.

I'm still brainstorming ideas.

So far I have two attempts at a Star Trek/AVP fanfiction. One I was working on using the DS9 characters and one that I have been working on more recently with original characters.

I have the DS9 crossover in my google docs, I'm not sure if it would hold up since its incomplete and leans very heavy into the AVPverse.

The one with original characters will involve more with the Trekverse.

Edit: I'll probably post both Fanfictions. Chronologically Star Trek: Into the Xenoverse happens first and then it will be War of the Xenoverse,

I'm afraid if I post my first chapter, I might not be able to edit it later if I need to improve the story.

Unless you're writing about/for the game Star Fleet Battles, in which case it is two words.
:vulcan:
So far the only Star Trek games I played were Star Trek Online, Deep Space Nine: The Fallen, Voyager: Elite Force.

Now I have played almost every ALIEN and PREDATOR game out there.
