I Just watched an episode of Hawaii 5-0 And CBS is wrong bout this one

steveda19

Lieutenant Commander
Here's how CBS describes it:
It's Christmas in Hawaii and Five-0 travels to the Big Island, where Max is forced to work with a rival medical examiner after a cowboy is poisoned. Meanwhile, McGarrett pressures Danny into stealing a Christmas tree, on HAWAII FIVE-0, Friday, Dec. 12 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT), on the CBS Television Network.

Yes McGarett stole a Xmas tree and the cops cited him $1200 fine. THATS BULL SHIT!! Theres a difference between TV LAND AND REAL LIFE! In real life COPS CAN GET AWAY WITH ANYTHING!! EVEN MURDER! All over the news about Officer Daren Wilson who shot and killed a black teen in ferguson. He didn't stand trail even faced a judge inside a courtroom. This proves how liberal CBS is really is. THIS IS EXACTLY WHY I DONT EVER WATCH CBS OR EVEN NBC NEWS. I Watch Fox News Channel for the truth instead liberal bias all three major TV news networks. The Thing is HOLLYWOOD always make cops look like the good guys. Not ONCE Hollywood ever made a TV show or a Movie about corrupted police depts which are THE TRUTH!

Pretty lame rant, and you're wrong about Hollywood not making a movie about corrupt police departments.

The Departed.

Copland.

Bad Lieutenant.

Training Day.

Maybe you're too young to watch these, I dunno.

Magnum Force

And I'm pretty sure there are tons of other material where the cops are the bad guys. You're watching a channel that is targeting an older, whiter demographic. Try expanding where you get your entertainment from.

Odd rant from somebody who claims to watch Fox news. Shouldn't that mean you side with the cops at all times?

Re: I Just watched an episode of Hawaii 5-0 And CBS is wrong bout this

The Shield comes to mind, Southland too and some others,

But hey, when one hates one group of people, hardly anything can defeat that ignorance, at least not messages on a forum.

At least you dishonour your avatar.

Re: I Just watched an episode of Hawaii 5-0 And CBS is wrong bout this

And don't forget documentaries such as "the thin blue line."

If anything at least since the 70s there were more movies about corrupt cops then not.

The original poster has to be trolling. he can't be that ignorant.

From what I've seen, when you put aside people like Hannity and O'Reilly, who are supposed to be editorialists not reporters, Fox has been fairly evenhanded regarding the coverage of Eric Garner. For example: http://www.foxsports.com/nba/story/derrick-rose-makes-statement-with-i-can-t-breathe-t-shirt-120614

Personally, I tend to think the cops were wrong in the Garner case and right in the Ferguson case. I guess in Al Sharpton's mind that makes me half a racist. ;)

concerning the thread-starting post:

Well, this surely won't end well...

Or just watch Hawaii 5-0. Practically every episode consists of this task force using their quasi-law enforcement/paramilitary status to get away with torturing prisoners, denying care to wounded suspects, using excessive force, beating confessions out of suspects, entering/searching without a warrant, and occasionally even straight up murdering people.

But the one thing Steve-Oh is misguidedly upset about is that they got away with is cutting down a Christmas tree? Which, by the way, they didn't get away with because they got fined for it and the tree will be confiscated. In the same damn episode one of their team shoots a suspect and then refuses to call an ambulance to their remote location until he confesses his crime, threatening to let him bleed to death in the process until he makes a coerced confession. But no, the Christmas tree thing they didn't get away with is much worse example of police corrruption.

Steverino also seems very confused about politics and the stances of certain media outlets on police abuse, but then he seems confused and outraged about a lot of weird things.

Re: I Just watched an episode of Hawaii 5-0 And CBS is wrong bout this

So, as a fan of the original 5-0, I made a good call in deciding NOT to watch the new series.

Re: I Just watched an episode of Hawaii 5-0 And CBS is wrong bout this

I enjoy it for the action and the camaraderie and banter between the characters; especially the bromance between McGarrett and Williams. But if you're looking for any actual realism regarding police procedure or a more grounded show like the original, it's practically science fiction. It does do the occasional fan service toward the original series, but as a show it's a completely different animal.

Don't forget the best one of them all, Serpico.

Serpico is on my list to watch during this Christmas break...

Re: I Just watched an episode of Hawaii 5-0 And CBS is wrong bout this

I only watched the first couple of eps when it premiered. As a big fan of the original, and having just completed a rewatch on DVD, I hated the new one. Now I just found out they cast Marc Dacascos as Wo Fat. The Crow. Trim, svelt, master martial-artist Marc Dacascos. As Wo Fat. Huh? :cardie:

Re: I Just watched an episode of Hawaii 5-0 And CBS is wrong bout this

this is a bit like watching the shield and getting angry that they don't declare the money they steal on their tax forms.

None of the new actors look all that much like the originals. It not like Grace Park is going to be mistaken for Zulu ( Gilbert Kauhi) when walking down the street. I see no reason why Wo Fat has to look like Khigh Dhiegh.

Re: I Just watched an episode of Hawaii 5-0 And CBS is wrong bout this

...I Watch Fox News Channel for the truth...

CHUCK LORRE PRODUCTIONS, #447

A dying animal struggles, thrashes and howls in protest as its life is torn from it. To see this in action watch Animal Planet. The same thing happens when an idea dies. To see this in action watch Fox News.

It just goes to show that when the truth is the bias of one's own personal opinions, there is no truth. Just ignorance.

At least for the sake of the name/weight jokes that occasionally sprung up.
