_______________

In my past I would like wake up... Whatever time. Going into one of my days having from 25-30 hours awake and somehow get to sleep for about 15-20 or more hours and then start again. Lots and lots of coffee for like 30 hours going to sleep right after drinking coffee.

Until I stopped using caffeine this was my normal day. I ended with missing my med taking twice a day about 2 or more days every week. I have missed 3 individual medication doses since I stopped caffeine last December. I am healthier now. But my useable waking hours has dropped from almost 30 hours to something like 7-8 maybe.. A tradeoff yes but, the healthy alternative to being sick most of the time.

What kind of hours do you have, to use for things that are generally required for responsible people to be alive and living and maintaining existence in a positive type state of being??

How is “Usable” defined? Before pandemic when I was training for Ironman I’d do things like work out 5-7:30 after work then meet my friends at the bar. I guess it depends if the hours I’m at home with nothing to do but have fun count.

usable is like --- the time I am responsible and doing things even like brushing my teeth or combing my hair all the daily activities that one does plus work and eat and live... these can't be done while one is asleep or doing nothing.

I figure I have about 14 hours of usable time. Do I spend it efficiently? Nope.
I decided to retire early the end of last year. When I was working, I was spending about 10 hours a day at work, occasionally longer and some weekends. After some 35-40 years of this, I decided why should I continue when the industry is looking to pay less and less. The client I had been working at for 12 years felt they couldn't let me take 3 weeks vacation, what would have been my 5th significant time off during that whole time. So, I left with about 500 hours vacation pay.

Well if you take an 8 hour sleep, thats taken in to account that when you go to bed you don't go straight to sleep.
That leaves 16 hours awake time that is out of bed. So 16 hours of "Useable" time a day on average. One could get 6 hours of sleep a particular day to give you 2 more hours.
How that time is used is up to the individual, be it work, play, binge netlfix, etc.
On a week day, I sleep from 11-7, take an hour to get up, get ready, and get to work. work from 8-5, hour drive, shopes etc. then I'm home 6-11p so 5 hours of "me" usefull time a day. One of my old jobs was 5 minutes away, and they didn't do an hour for lunch, was included, so my "Me" time was up to close to 8 hours on a weekday. 6pm to 2am.
So its your personal definition of Usefull time.

If you count the time I’m sitting around playing video games or internet commenting because I can’t go out cause I don’t want to kill old people, at least 14.

i work for 10 hours a day (except fridays) and i travel a total of 3 hours a day on top of that,
when home after work, cleaning and making food, i usually pass out around eight to nine pm.
so it's like 15-16 hours.

Usable.. work isn't usable nor usefull, that is what you do to be underpaid and to stuff money up the arses of people who are way too rich already.. being asleep is usable so 8 hours.. spare time mwah a few more hours so not too much..

Depends on the day. Some days I want to have more sleep, while others I can settle for less sleep. Generally get around 8 hours of sleep, so that gives me 16 hours to use during the day.

17 Hours.
30 minutes of Shower/Dressing
30 minute commute
8 Hour work day
30 minute commute
30 minutes of cooking lunch and dinner
7 hours of TV/Movies/Reading/Chores

Wednesday and Sundays I only work 4 hours and then spend 2 hours donating plasma
