How many SG cast expected to be in Tappings Sanctuary?

In the middle of watching Ep 5 of Sanctuary and we are now introduced to two other characters from the SG universe, Zalenka and Morgan Le Fey which now brings the number of cast up to this episode, including Tapping, 6 (McKay, Lorne, the guy who played Halling/Todd and the last two I mentioned. Just curious as to how many more we might expect to see through out the rest of the series as I find it's actually quite cool seeing them outside Stargate?

Also I take the reason we're seeing them all is because, like Stargate, Santuary is a Canadian produced show?

I think it has more to do with the fact that the creators are longtime Stargate writer/producer Damian Kindler and Sam Egan (writer of SG-1 episode Touchstone). Plus, Martin Wood is a producer and directs most of the episodes.

Probably both. Canadian TV is notoriously incestuous that way. (Odd side fact: I once recognized a guest star on The X-Files as the guy who played Kowalski on Stargate SG-1. That's not unusual. The shows have shared many actors. What was weird was that it was on a Season 8 episode, after they moved X-Files production to California.)

I'm at the moment watching X-Files all the way through and I recently saw Jay Acovone (Kowalski) in the episode "Demons". It was in Season 4, when they were still in Vancouver. So it's possible that they liked his performance and got him again for a different character in Season 8.

It's probable that Acovone relocated to Los Angeles at some point, because he's shown up on Monk, 24, and a few other LA-located shows that I've seen recently.

I thought that they did when they showed the web shows together as a three parter. Didn't see the web shows myself but I was going to until I realised that Sci-fi (UK) was showing them anyway and iirc Hewlett was in it.

There was a joke amongst the Vancouver actor's pool in the mid-90s, that when one actor met another, you'd start by asking "So, how were YOU killed on The X-Files"? I'm sure that SG-1 and Atlantis had similar in-jokes. With Universe coming along I'm sure that this trend will continue. :)

As for Jay Acovone, he is amongst numerous actors who are active in Vancouver and LA, often owning houses in both. Dean Haglund is another example.

Hewlett's part was recast in the series, so he's yet to make an appearance in the tv version...
