Hot Toddy recipes

I have recently been struck down by man-flu which means I may well drop dead at any moment so I shall make this brief.
Ninety percent of people who have found out about my condition have recommended the magic of a Hot Toddy however I have noticed that the premise of a Hot Toddy seems different to each person I ask. So what is a Hot Toddy to you? Do I use Tea, Coffee, or just plain hot water. Do I add Rum, scotch or Brandy or perhaps a mixture of all three.

In general discuss.

Pure orange juice, a few cloves and a couple teaspoons of whiskey. Heat in microwave.

While hot toddies are lovely on a cold and rainy day, I don't think it's a great idea to treat your man-flu
with one. Alcohol dehydrates, and the last thing you need when you are sick is to be dehydrated.

I think the necessary 2 ingredients of a Toddy are Honey and Whiskey. I know whenever I was sick as a kid, Dad would give me hot toddys, I dont know if they helped much or not, but they dern sure made me feel better!
