Hitchhikers Guide/Doctor Who Connections

I just finished rewatching the TV version of HHGTTG and discovered some things I hadn't previously been aware of.

Firstly, I always remembered that Peter Davison played the part of the "dish of the day" at Milliway's.

Things I wasn't aware of:

- The part of Hotblack Desiato's bodyguard is played by "Dave" Prowse (not Who related, but still interesting).

- Trillian is played by Sandra Dickinson, who was married to Peter Davison from 1978-1994 and is the lovely Georgia Moffett's mother.

- Number Three from the Golgafrinchan "B" Ark is played by Geoffrey Beevers.

James Broadbent (11th Doctor - Curse Of Fatal Death) played a few parts in the radio version.

Anything I missed?

Obviously it's not a big surprise that BBC actors appeared on multiple programmes.

Anything I missed?

How about the fact that Douglas Adams himself was script editor of Doctor Who during seasons 16 & 17 and that he also wrote The Pirate Planet, City of Death & Shada.

He pinched some elements of Doctor Who stories for use in Hitch Hikers, such as the name Vogons from Revenge of the Cybermen, the self aware but insane computer Hector (based on the computer in Face of Evil) and the white mice & the TARDIS materialising in the middle of Lords cricket ground from Daleks Masterplan (the latter became a chesterfield sofa caught in a time-eddy).

Theres the use of a quarry as Magrathea (no doubt one of the same ones used in DW) and some of the same production personnel worked on both shows .

Oh and the third chapter Life, the universe and Everything began life as Doctor Who and the Krikkitmen.

Well.... Dave Prowse has been in Who- he was the Minotaur in The Time Monster. Peter Davison himself is also in HHGTTG as the Dish Of The Day...

-Doc Ten name-checks Arthur Dent in The Christmas Invasion, even referring to him as (possibly) a real person in his universe.

-Shada is practically the orginal script for one of his Dirk Gentley books.

The Doctor had a book called "Origins of the Universe" by none other than famed HHGTTG author Oolon Colluphid, in Destiny of the Daleks.

Also, Valentine Dyall was Deep Thought and Gargrava in H2G2, and the Black Guardian in Who, Bill Patterson (Professor Bracewell) was a bored co-pilot in H2G2 ep 7, Jonathan Pryce played Zarniwoop and the Curse of Fatal Death Master, and Jack May, Roy Hudd and Colin Jeavons are all in one or other version of the Milliways (Milliways? Why, that sounds a lot like Gallifrey) section and have all been in Who on TV or CD. Oh, and an early version of the TV H2G2 title sequence used the Tom Baker era time tunnel effect.
Oh and Rula Lenska's in H2G2 season two and Who as well. And of course, the third Hitch Hikers book is based on an unsold Doctor Who story outline that Douglas Adams reworked (Ooops, someone's alrady mentioned that up thread).
