Highlander The Series : Horton (Spoilers for S5 and 6)

In one of the seasonal cliffhangers, we learn that Watchers are being stalked and killed by Duncan's old friend Jacob Galati, causing Joe to be hauled in by the Council for revealing the big secret to Duncan and others. The second part shows why he's doing this : His wife of centuries was murdered in front of him, possibly the first victim of Horton's crusade.

In the FB scene where this occurs, as Horton raises the sword to kill her, I would swear that his eyes flash and that an animal's roar is heard in the 'background' that is later heard again during the 'Ahriman' episodes and perhaps even during the Horsemen eps and Cass's first appearance with her former protege. Both Horton and Kronos are prime forms that the demon uses to taunt Duncan.

My question is, do you think its possible that Horton's madness stemmed not merely from well-intentioned extremism but from corruption by and direction from Ahriman? I know backstory on the DVD's has him suffering mentally from being Kurgan's Watcher, but the SFX in the scene I mentioned make me wonder.
