Has anyone redrawn the Romulan symbol?

Jeff

In Raise the Dawn they mentioned a change of the Romulan seal where the stylized raptor is grasping a single planet instead of two in its claws, as something of an acknolwegement of the Remans getting out from under their thumb, Im having a hard time picturing this symbol, has anyone taken a crack at it yet?

^ Lol.

In all seriousness, Jeff, if it helps, I've pictured the limbs of the raptor forming a triangular gap below the bird, with the planet at the lowermost vertex. Does that make sense/help at all?

That's about the same way I pictured it. However, a real picture is better than foggy imagination. I'd appreciate if someone would take the challenge to design the new raptor.

Decloaking just long enough to post...

I like that. I was having trouble trying to get a clear mental image of the new symbol, but not anymore.

I dunno, the planet looks a bit too large there. Not sure it fits the composition. Also keep in mind that the version seen in Nemesis was a 3D sculpture, so that would have to be a very big sphere and I'm not sure it would fit behind the beak like that.

...I could sort of see those wings being the curving surfaces of a big, embracing sphere, more or less centered on the inner one, and the beak correspondingly curving above the central sphere and reaching far ahead.

Has anybody ever described in detail the actual species of bird that's supposed to be depicted here?
