The end of March can't come fast enough! The "Death Magnetic" DLC pack is fully compatible, too, so that's a few extra songs right there. The PS2 and Wii versions will include three extra songs from "Death Magnetic" since those systems don't have access to the DLC pack. The songs are "Broken, Beat and Scarred", "Cyanide" and "My Apocalypse".
 
I'll pick it up, even though I'm not than big a fan of Metallica anymore, they were my favorite bane for 15+ years. Metallica and Van Halen what were what I first learned to play guitar on, so I'll always have a soft spot for them. Even though the guys in Metallica turned out to be major assholes.

I would have like to have seen Hero of the Day and Bleeding Me though. And of course, their cover of Astronomy is amazing. Can always hope for future DLC

No, full band. The drums even have a new difficulty setting - Expert Plus.

I'm not a massive Metallica fan, but I can see myself buying this a lot more than I can Rock Band: The Beatles.

A more in-depth preview. This game sounds more awesome all the time! This especially caught my eye:

Another new mode being added to the game is called Drum Over which lets you to play a track without any drum notes, allowing you to play whatever you want without penalty. The drum samples are based on the drums for each individual song, so if you can manage to play along correctly, it should theoretically sound just like the album. Or, you could go crazy and try to mix up John Bonham's solo in Zeppelin's "Moby Dick" over top of "The Unforgiven" and see what happens.

People should take the time they use playing this game and, I don't know, learn to play a real instrument? It's way cooler, and you get more chicks.

I suppose I should take the time I spent playing Grand Theft Auto IV and use it to learn how to rob banks and shoot mobsters, then. :(
 
I don't play GH but leaning a lot on Kill 'Em All is probably a good idea but Turn the Page seems like a bad choice, it's a good tune (trust me we all know it here in Michigan) but doesn't strike me as something you rock out on.

I was living in Vegas last spring and won a couple grand on a Wheel of Fortune slot machine. Went to Best Buy the next day to buy a Wii and Guitar Hero, but they were out of Wii's. So, I went to Guitar Center and picked up a nice acoustic guitar instead.


A few months ago I got a Wii. It gets played a Hell of a lot more often.:lol:

what if I've been playing guitar for over 15 years and have multiple guitars that all cost thousands of dollars and I can play any Metallica song with my eyes closed? Is it ok that I play this game?
