Genre Hunk of the Week 6/17/08: Timothy Olyphant

This week's choice is Timothy Olyphant, a former competitive swimmer, known for his intense gaze and heavy dramatic roles. His genre work includes Hitman, Dreamcatcher, Scream 2 and A Live Less Ordinary.

He first achieved the notice of critics and audience members in the role of the baby-faced drug dealer in the film, Go. However, it was the television series, "Deadwood," in which he played Sheriff Seth Bullock, that made him a fan favorite and a darling of the critics. It was that role that lead him to being cast in Catch & Release, Stop-Loss, and, his most famous film role to date, the villain in Die Hard 4.

Currently, Olyphant (self-proclaimed "sports nut") serves as the sports reporter for Joe Escalante's morning show on LA's radio station Indie 103.1, and has also signed to appear as a recurring character on the comedy series, "Samatha Who?"

He's really hot in Deadwood. His look is amazingly verstatile, I would never have recognised him as the bald guy or the twink looking guy when compared to his Deadwood role.
