As requested, this week's choice is Tobey Maguire. This 33 year old actor/producer is best known worldwide for his role in the Spider-Man film series, but he also has done other genre work, such as the film Pleasantville and Cats & Dogs. He is also rumored to be producing the upcoming Robotech film.

Maguire started acting as a child, and dropped out of high school to devote himself to his career full-time. Once he completed his GED, he and friend Leonardo DiCaprio went on several auditions together. It was the Ang Lee film, The Ice Storm, that first brought Maguire to the attention of film critics, and he has since starred in several dramatic films, including The Cider House Rules, Wonder Boys and Sea Biscuit (for which he was also executive producer).

In his spare time, Tobey plays tournament poker. He has played in the World Series of Poker for the past three years, and apparently has won over 10 Million dollars solely by playing poker in Southern California (wiki). He is also a devoted husband and father, and he and his family attend Laker games together on a regular basis.

So, here he is:

Eh, meh, very meh. He's a decent actor, but he does nothing for me as far as his looks are concerned.

Well he's cute, and I'll echo the sentiment that he's an interesting actor (especially when cast against type like in The Good German) but a bit too much on the "boyish" side for me, so I give him a solid MEH.

I've never understood the appeal of him. He's just not attractive at all. Thumbs down.

I hadn't realised until now that he was the dweeb in The Ice Storm (which is a terrific movie :bolian:).

I'll go with meh.

I gave him a yeah baby for the buffed look in the Original Spiderman. But he didn't keep it and in the later movies you never saw him shirtless, sadly.

Someone on this board said I look like a heavier version of him. Just hope that manlier and taller is able to be added to that list.

Straigh mans sideways Sideways because he is a good actor.

By the way, I'm getting into slim pickings for names. So far, I have Orlando Bloom, Joaquin Phoenix, Richard Burgi, Jake Gyllenhal, Jason Carter, Brandon Routh, Ethan Hawke and Jason Carter waiting in the wings. I need more to flesh out----er, make that EXPAND---the list a little bit. Are there any big names or cult favorites that we haven't covered yet? Are the stars of "Reaper" and "Pushing Daisies" good candidates?

At week 65, it feels like the well is going a bit dry. NAMES, NAMES, NAMES, please!

Meh. He's always looked kinda sickly to me. Plus I hated his Spider-Man, Toby can't quip his way out of a paper bag.
