Galoob Micro Machines

Hey Missy

Captain
Captain
Who else loves these little things? I just got the 1995 Collector's Set II (the one in the purple box) for $50 at a comic book store, which I know can fetch $120+ on eBay as an auction or buy it now listing. I also picked up set #11 (Space Dock Shuttle, Klingon BoP "HMS Bounty" from TVH and USS Farragut) for $30, which I believe is one of the rarest. I know I'll be leaving that NIB but I did open the Collector Set and have the ships displayed with the ones from the previous.
But here's a question; in Collector's Set II it includes three ships exclusive to this package: Enterprise-D w/ three nacelles, Klingon negh'Var cruiser and USS Pasteur, but it also contains the Defiant and Farragut, which were never in the second wave from 1994, only the third wave from 1995/1996. Were they put in here early?

Those little ships were awesome. I have them all except for the Bounty (which was pretty expensive at the time, so I'm glad to hear the prices have come down.)

Yeah, normally the pack with the Bounty goes for between $80 and $100, I was glad I was able to find it for a lot cheaper!

I have the Bounty pack in a tub with several of the others in the back of a cupboard at home. I got it from my local toy shop when it was first released--I was more after the Nebula-Class.

I might have to dig them out again and see what ones I had again.

I had dozens of the little things. They were every popular in a local store when I was younger and managed to get every set they had in - as well as a couple of the big boxes. Though sadly some sets had to be drafted in from Forbidden Planet which at the time meant 30 days wait - an eternity for an impatient child :(

No idea what happened to most of them. Only a few survived - a few Enterprise's, Stargazer, a Cardassian ship etc - but they've all been handed down to the kids along with some of the old figures. Figured they'd be better off being enjoyed than sitting in a box for the rest of eternity

I have most of the first range, they survived unscathed but box free for 20 years. But like you, I chose the joy angle...so now I am forever gluing them back together after my four year old gets to vigorous with his phaser battles. The boy loves a starship though...and I love that he loves them.

Here's to little Trekkers everywhere.

This reminds me that I should have bought that Enterprise-D micro machine with separating saucer section in the 90s when I had it in my hand... I do have "the regular one" and much more TNG micro machines but... still...

The Ent-D with separating saucer section is better than the "regular" one which isn't as detailed and is more likely to be twisted and warped due to the type of plastic they used.

I have a whole box of them, that, as my girls get older, I'll be letting them play with. I need to get them all out and glue appropriately so that they are ready :)

Yep, I have a box full of them and the Star Wars ones. My youngest has played with them quite a bit, so some "battle damage" has occurred on a few. Although I did pull out a couple choice ones before he got his hands on them! :D

Be careful about losing them; I know when I was little growing up I would always lose the smaller ships like the Ferengi marauder and Runabout, but that was when you could still find them in stores!

I liked them, and still have them in a box somewhere. But most of mine seemed to have slight manufacturing defects... bent nacelles, warped hulls, etc. I could never find any that looked exactly right.

They made and Enterprise-D without a separating saucer? Hmm. I have two and a half and they're all separating saucers. I have a runabout, three Deep Space Nines each missing at least one arm. I have a couple of Enterprise-Bs. A few years ago at a yard sale I finally realized my dream of owning the set with the original Enteprise, Romulan Bird of Prey and the Klingon Battle Cruiser. The box is all warped but I still never took them out of it. Can anyone explain why I would think they have more value sitting in their warn out box than a 31 year old me playing with them?

I wish they still made the 90's Star Trek toys. These are the ones I want to have. I don't care about any of the newer stuff. My Christmas Wish for years was the Star Trek Next Generation Bridge playset. Never got it. I wish I could just waltz into the store and pick one up for myself.

AAAAA, you're making it worse! ;)

My Enterprise-C is warped, luckily not D.

The separating E-D is also bigger. Definitely one of my favourites in my collection :)

Is it? I remember it being chunkier, but thats all. I'm now wondering which survived as one of them will be in the kids room. I just can't remember which one :p

Though I was always disappointed that my regular was warped a little as the nacelle pylons curved down a little bit from the engineering hull :/ Not as bad as the TOS Ent which had a chunk missing from the saucer.

I found one at a comic fair/market a couple of years back but ended up passing as despite it only being a tenner, it was not in the best condition and bits were missing.

I wanted it as a kid, but ended up just making my own. Which sounds spectacular, but it was just a paper/cardboard set up that likely ended up in a bin at some stage

I've got the two boxed sets up in the attic. I think they're still unopened. used to have them on a shelf to admire through the plastic. :)

It's been a looong time I held it, but I don't remember it being bigger. It was a part of 3 ship set, and perhaps had something to do with 'Generations' movie, don't remember for certain though.

YOu can fix bent nacelles pretty easily. Boil a pot of water, hold the micro machine in there for a few seconds. When you pull it out it will be floppy. Straighten them out and hold them under cold running water to set it in place.

Good luck!

Yes. The Enterprise-B, Klingon Bird of Prey, and the Saucer Sep Enterprise-D. That explains why I have so many of each. I recently found an Ent-B in a box of my stuff. The nacelle looks like a pretzel so I'll have to use Albertese's advice.
