During my discussion on Kes and the Ocampa (https://www.trekbbs.com/threads/ocampa-kes-ideas.317578/) , a subject of the Galactic Civilizations game series came up.

So I decided to start a separate thread for discussions related to Galactic Civilizations. Especially since I am making another fanfiction project there. It can be find here:

Everyone is invited to take part in it. Just, if you have any story ideas for the project, please post them on the thread of the Gal Civ forum. Stardock is much more acceptable of such things.


Otherwise, feel free to discuss anything Gal Civ related here. If you have any questions, I will answer them.

I recognised the Drengin reference in the Kes thread, though it's been years since I played one of the games in the GC franchise. Perhaps I should fire it up again, for old times' sake.

Galactic Civilizations IV: Supernova is really good and innovative. Although it is quite expensive. If you cannot or do not want to buy it, there is quite a lot YouTube content on the game. 100Stratman makes especially good Gal Civ IV videos.

I need to get back into this. I liked II back in the day, had it on Stardock. Repurchased it so I had it in Steam but forgot about it.

I think III got a refund on the time as it felt just like II again, but that was a knee-jerk reaction at the time.

I'll keep an eye on IV!

Maybe. I haven't noticed.

But the lore is science fiction (mostly, anyway) and it is the greatest part of the series for me (I do like gameplay a lot, but lore is really great).
