Even more horrific accusations against Neil Gaiman revealed

The actual article is behind a paywall but a quick Google will find all the horrific details. And when I say horrific, I mean horrific. I'm not a fan of Trigger Warnings but seriously think long and hard before you read them. The degradation he caused multiple women, sometimes with his then-young son in the room, is of a magnitude far beyond what was reported last year.

I certainly can't see any universe in which The Sandman Season 2 or that Good Omens TVM which replaced S3 ever see the light of day.

We had a celebrity in Canada who repeatedly promoted women's issues and described himself in feminist terms. His career came to an end when multiple women came forward with detailed accounts of abuse.

This hits me hard because I was on board with Gaiman early on and have loved his work, and respected him for his intellect and thoughtful nature all my life. It feels like I've learned that a close relative is a series killer.

I could not stomach my way through the first account so I skimmed through the rest of the article. Multiple women who do not know each other describing consistent accounts with such awful and specific details. Gaiman's career is over and he may even be prosecuted if somebody wants to take up the case.

It pisses me off that people like popular politicians get away with similar behavior (multiple people forming the next government) and everybody seems okay with it.

This sentiment exactly.
At least Gaetz decided to step aside. The accusations that have been made over the years against he who shall no be named and his military crony are just as bad. And Gaiman's response to this whole thing makes him no better than them.

Another factor here is Amanda Palmer. How the hell was she okay with all this? She has built her career on being a feminist as well. Now that seems to have been as much of a facade as Gaiman's act.

Are you talking about Jhian Ghomeshi? Man, when that came out, it hit me hard as I genuinely liked him as host of Q. The more that was revealed, the more it really stacked against him. Inexcusable. Always amazes me when celebs end up ruining their careers over stuff like this.

As for Neil Gaiman, sometimes you can get a vibe for people, and I don't think I particularly liked what he wrote. He always struck me as weird.

More than okay -- what happened in November was in part a grotesquely misogynistic backlash against societal gains by women. ("Your body, my choice.") For some folks, the abusive behavior of these men is undoubtedly a feature, not a bug.

Just a cool trick for people here that I learned fairly recently for any internet articles behind a paywall. Copy the address of any article that is behind the paywall and paste it into the designated field on this site:

You get the whole articles for free.

Yes, I'm referring to him. Academy Award winning screen writer/director/(former?) actor, Sarah Polley recently recounted details of her horrific encounter with him when she was 16. There was also one of his accusers that recounted details of her violent encounter with him publicly shortly after he was acquitted. That was a brave move because he could have counter sued at the time, but that would have put him in a position where evidence not admissible in court could be made public.
