DEXTER: ORIGINAL SIN and DEXTER: RESURRECTION

Yes, long suffering Dexter fans, it's time for not just another round, but two!

Prequel DEXTER: ORIGINAL SIN is set for a ten episode run from December 13th until February 14th. RESURRECTION, picking up from NEW BLOOD, will follow the summer of 2025. NuTrek wise, LOWER DECKS will conclude December 19th, and SECTION 31 airs January 24th.

Seasons 1-4 & NEW BLOOD showrunner Clyde Phillips is running both projects. Hated seasons 6-8? Blame Scott Buck for those.

Anyone else along for the ride? Or are you a Dexter fan that's finally had enough?

Brother Sam was great in season 6, the Doomsday Killers not so much.

Isaak Sirko was great in season 7, Hannah McKay was a decent idea but the writing failed her.

Season 8, nothing was worth while. Not the killer, not the understudy, not the shrink/delving into the past again, not the ending. A whole lot of stupid and everyone going through the motions.

This sums up season 8:
Batista, episode 1: "I'm gonna look into LaGuerta's murder."
Batista, episodes 2-12: "........"

Early Dexter built up a lot of good will with me, and I don't always learn from my mistakes, so yes, I will check these out.

I did actually like a lot of New Blood, but didn't like how it fell apart at the end. While I do enjoy watching Micheal C. Hall play the character, the whole
"oh, he wasn't really dead!"
just strikes me as silly. I wonder how many of these "endings" they're going to have to keep undoing...

I absolutely LOVE Dexter, but kinda wish that last series hadn't happened. I might tentatively check out the new one but I'll admit my hopes aren't very high.

I thought Michael C. Hall was returning as the series narrator in the latest season, even though he was dead.

Whilst it wasn't peak Dexter, New Blood had a decent conclusion (much better than S8!), so I'm not excited for a new season.

I'm curious about the prequel, though, particularly with Clyde Phillips attached, the man who is mostly good things.

Was just about to post this!
This feels like one of those cheap fanfic productions of Trek, but none of the heart or passion is involved.
Bad Blood - "Dexter is 100% absolutely dead!"
Now - "Sike!"

If the showrunners have new parameters on how to operate, then there could be something. If they're required to go down the same road that the last five seasons traveled, then it's going to be a dumpster fire.

Did anyone watch this? It was both good and bad at the same time. So that's a major set up from season 8.

Still, how much prequel ground can they really cover when they stuck him at Miami Metro already and everyone is just younger?

Just a moment's observation on how well the casting people have done recreating the characters with younger actors, with the exception of Harry, maybe Deb.
