Has anyone seen this documentary? It's new, made in 2008.

The general premise is that the film is a true story which was made by a friend of a man named Andrew Bagby, killed by an insane ex-girlfriend. He went all over the US and Canada hoping to learn more about his childhood friend. Through this we find out a great deal, including the horribly handled extradition trial when she fled to Canada, the birth of a son named Zachary and the custody battle between the girlfriend (Shirley Turner) and Andrew's parents. As the documentary was made, more was revealed and the last half of the film descends from there.
SPOILERS FROM HERE
I have to say... I'm an absolute wreck right now and I wish I hadn't watched it. The first half was sad, touching and bittersweet. Seeing how the Canadian and US governments mishandled her extradition case was crazy and what Andrew's parents did for Zachary was amazing.
But then it happens. That complete 180.
I believe, though Kurt made this film for his friend, that he used massively deceiving editing practices and the title of the film alone sets you up to become emotionally devastated. I think it was manipulative and wrong. I'm sorry, but when the moment it's revealed that...
I honestly don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight. At least with horror films you know what you're being lead into.
As much as I want to recommend it... this isn't just some regular "Dateline NBC" or "Real Crimes" little doc... this was a personal project made by a friend of Andrew Bagby and I can't help but feel utterly devestated.

Zachary is killed, it is put over a red filter and loud noise. THAT WAS TOO MUCH. I'm tearing up just thinking about it. That was beyond horrible and utterly unnecessary. And apparently, in reading professional reviews and comments on the film, I'm not alone in that thought. And followed right after that is the extremely graphic, heart-wrenching scene of Kate recalling seeing Zachary put into the furnace, head hanging out of a bag... and the rage-filled vengeful rant of David.
